Ok I seriously give up, it seems I'm not getting anywhere. If someone in the Surrey or lower mainland wants to help me out and do this for me, I would really appreciate it.
i dont even get that far to prepare for 1.1.1 update, mine goes to download appsnapp then goes staright to my activate now screen without even downloading...the one time it actually worked and restarted but just came up with the plug into itunes picture from 1.1.1, mind that i am running a OTB 1.1.2 iphone so if anyone could help, please contact me
However when I connect my phone to the computer and start itunes I'm unable to locate my device.
ms_selena,
You posted in the other thread that you have the same error as a person who has a bricked phone. If this is the case, you may also have a bricked phone. Here's a few quesitons so I can gauge what state your phone is in:
1) What firmware / baseband was your phone in when you started?
2) Have you ever had this phone at an unlocked state at 1.0.2?
3) Have you ever had this phone at an unlocked state at 1.1.1?
4) What is the first 4 digits of your IMEI number on the back of your phone
5) What is the first 4 digits of your IMEI number as reported by your phone? (dial *#06#)

What exactly are you trying to do with your phone?
You have, so I'm going to assume that you know that there is no way of unlocking this phone right now - You just want to jailbreak/activate on 1.1.1?

Ok this phone was BNIB with 1.0.2 which i unlocked and was using.
Virginized and went to 1.1.1...unlocked and used!
Followed the guides to upgrade to 1.1.2 and obviously screwed up somewhere.
First 4 digits 0113
Unfortunately I can't check the IMEI on my phone because I keep getting that same error indicating a brick. I've tryed going to 1.1.1 but no success. At this point I'm lost. I have no idea where to go from here!

Alright - So your phone is bricked...Because you started off with a 1.0.2 unlocked phone, you were doomed before you even began - it didn't matter how close you followed the guides, none of them would have worked for you.
First thing is first - you need to get back your IMEI on your phone.
Start off with restoring baseband and firmware to 3.14 and 1.0.2 respectively.
Run AnySIM 1.02 to get your old IMEI back
Virginize
DFU 1.0.2
Upgrade 1.1.2 and check you IMEI, and go from there
right now, you should have a 1.1.1 w/ 4.02.13_g right? Download and run anySIM 1.2.1u on your phone. Then run Oktoprep, and upgrade back to 1.1.2.
Downlaod the jailbreak software for 1.1.2 and run that....

Trying to follow the instructions, but not getting far. The instructions say to download the 1.1.1 firmware file which should have an extension .ipsw, but I don't get that. Instead I get a folder of files and none of them are a .ipsw file. There is 118MB .dmg file, but it requires a password. What is the deal here. What file do I point to to restore to 1.1.1???
I have a brand new iPhone just bought a week ago. Will there be any issues for me since it's new? How do I find out what bootloader and baseband I have?

If its a week 45 or newer its the new bootloader but that doesnt matter the jailbreak should still work just unlocking it will not for now. Check the wiki page in my signature and take a look at the "IPhone Firmware Guide" section to find out what week iPhone you have.
I live in Toronto, if i buy Iphone this weekend in Buffalo, the chances are it will have the new firmware 1.1.2 correct?
Another words i wont be able to unlock it and use it in Canada on Rogers?
