Guide: 1.1.2 Jailbreak, Activate, and Fix YouTube (Windows + Mac)
Now I have my previous ATT sim installed in the phone, I am up and running!
It took me three attempts, but all is good now. There is so much information out there on various sites, first attempt I bricked my phone using the ibrickr method on hacktheiphone.com, second time I used the wiki guide mentioned above and it was a good guide, but I had to be creative to a certain extent. I could not find the oktoprep in the installer for a while then suddenly it appeared. Once I had it all working I tried to install the Any Sim 1.2 and it hosed the phone and I had to start all over after a recovery.
Once I got it working this last time, for some reason the youtube did not work. I found a fix for that in the installer and everything is good now.
My one question is this - I have ATT so my phone works, but I am interested to know why the Wiki guide does not have a step in there to "unlock" the phone so it can be used with another Sim, like T-Mobile. Even though I don't need it, if I sell the phone it might be more valuable to be truely unlocked.
Is there a way to unlock it now that I am back on 1.1.2 jailbreaked??? I certainly don't want to hose the phone up again.

The reason I dont have unlock for 1.1.2 guide up is because unlocking 1.1.2 out of the box is not possible yet due to the new bootloader. Check this wiki page out for more info: http://wiki.howardforums.com/index.p....2_Information
having a problem here...i got my jailbreak to finally work yesterday then i updated to 1.1.2 and i lost t anyway when i use Windows AppTapp v0.92 it fails at the end sayin "failed sending to iPhone: what can i do?
I bought 2 Ipod touch yesterday, one is twik 44 and the other one is twik 45(4th and 5th digit of the serial#), can i jailbreak them both? Is it a diffrent process or the same for both?
Does this void Apple's warranty if i ever have to send them for repairs?

This jailbreak will work for your touch's it doesnt matter what week they are. Also as long as you are able to restore the touche's before you send it in to apple it should not void your warranty.

Sorry I dotn understand your question? please be more specific.
Thank you, one more question, is the jailbreak process diffrent for week 44 and week 45?
What i mean is, do i have to restore to previous version before i start?

Ok I have a week 45 iPhone, straight out the box. So 1.1.2 is on there. I just want to bypass activation so I wont lose my corporate discount or have to change my rate plan.
I tried the downgrading to 1.1.1. but I cant get iTunes to recognize the phone is in recovery mode or whatever.
Also, do I need to put my sim card from my phone I am using now into the iPhone?
As far as i know, theres no way if it comes loaded with 1.1.2. You cannot downgrade to 1.1.1, you will get an unexpected error message and the phone will hang.
guys please help me.......i have spent last 3 hours trying to jailbreak my 1.1.1 phone.
i do everything like the guide says but the safari crashes and theni get back to ACTIVATE IPHONE screen which stays lit for like 20 seconds and then it goes dark. I reboot i try again NOTHING what is wrong? i tried the guide from hacktheiphone.com and this and i cant activate this damn phone. I restored it to 1.1.1 several times try it again nothing.
Do i need to close old browsers (safari) when i go to jailbrakeme.com or it doesnt matter?
