Newbe question. Can a brand new iPhone (circa 12/2007) be hacked at all? As in, ringtones, etc. Not interested in unlocking. What options are available?

I downgraded OTB 1.1.2 iPhone to 1.1.1 and jailed.
I'm trying to activate my iPhone with at&t thru iTune (no need unlock I mean I cannot unlock this iphone anyway), but it says "Waiting for activation-this may take some time" then nothing happens... I don't see any signal bars at upper left corner, strange.
Am I doing something wrong at this point?
How can I activate my iPhone thru iTune?

Now I'm wondering.. If I updated to 1.1.2 (did not come with 1.1.2), can I still unlock? If so, same method as downgrading to jailbreak?

If I can unlock, can I still update to 1.1.2 if I need to downgrade first?

You need to downgrade to from 1.1.2 back to 1.1.1 then jailbreak it and install anySIM 1.2.1u manuley unless you know a working installer repository to install it from. after you install it just set your iPhone to never auto lock and run it. Then install "OktoPrep" off the installer under the tweaks 1.1.1 section and update to 1.1.2 then jailbreak 1.1.2 and that should be it. Alot of work for unlocking 1.1.2 isnt it?

First. My phone has been activated alread
I just downgraded to 1.1.1 and ran OkToPrep. One thing I have noticed is I dont have an ATT logo or any service at the moment.. Is that right??
Next thing is, I opened iTunes and it said Update 1.1.2 is available so I click Update.
My only question is.. Why did it say I couldnt activate because of no service and why is my iPhone not showing any service.. Will this be fixed when 1.1.2 is loaded??

I got an OTB 1.1.2. iPhone.
I downgraded to 1.1.1, then jailbroke it.
Now I can install software and also got International keyboads, but I don't know how to activate at&t service without upgrading it to 1.1.2.
Once I upgraded it to 1.1.2 then my iPhone was activated automatically, but I lost International keyboards, so I don't want to upgrade it to 1.1.2.
Does anybody know how? Please?
It just says "No Service".
