Hi I was able to unlock my 1.1.2 iphone. Thank you all. Now I need to learn how to fix my youtube. Please teach me how. Second question is that OP's link said it's support PPC, does that mean that I can install Pocket PC softwares? I have some medical PPC softwares based that I love to install into my iPhone. Please PM if you have any info. Thanks.

I've never tried the mac, but the jailbreak software is Javascript, so it shouldn't be any different.

Usually, I'll use the BigBoss' sources to do these two things (YouTube and ringtones) -

This last time I was unlocking 1.1.2, I finished and was about to enter the source when I noticed that YouTube was working - so, I decided to try the ringtone without the BigBoss' patch.

Renamed my ringtone.m4r file to "ringtone .m4r" (notice the space), and SSH'd the file into the ringtones directory. Went into sound settings, and the file was there. Clicked on it, and it makes a sound.

    Go figure :\.

** This is strictly the 1.1.2 jail/activate software that we are talking about, not Carnaval, Pacay, Appsnap, or any other software.

    Maybe it's not the jailbreak/activation -

Hey, could you just try copying the file into the iPhone without the space?

Maybe 1.1.2 just supports it in the back end (Maybe Apple is preparing to unleash custom ringtones on the world(?))

Well, given the fact that 1.1.2 seems to support custom ringtones post activation / jailbreak, I'd say just go 1.1.2!!!

Follow either of these guides: http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=1279705 or http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=1279040

You are already at 1.1.2 with 4.02 baseband, so you're already completely milestone 1.

    Good luck!

How do you install the following?

    h) Install ‘Community Services’, ‘BSD Subsystem’ and ‘OpenSSH’ (NOTE: These are installed ON YOUR iPHONE, and not in Windows. Community Services just let's you 'see' OpenSSH, BSD Subsystem is a prerequisite for OpenSSH, and OpenSSH itself is a secure FTP server that lets you copy files between your iPhone and your PC).

and how do you do the following?

    j) Copy the unzipped anySIM.app into the /Applications folder. Drill into the anySIM.app folder and select all the files. Right-Click and select ‘Properties’ Change the permissions on the file (top right hand corner in the pop-up window) to enable ‘execution’, or simply type in 0755 in the box below the checkboxes)

Basically after installing "Installer", tap on the icon, and update the program - you'll see under the Install section, you have a lot of things to install.

Community Services is in the "sources" category
BSD and Open SSH are in the "system" category

After installing SSH, your phone will basically become a portable wireless secure FTP server. You need a secure FTP client, and that's where WinSCP comes in. This is a windows program, and will allow you to connect to your iphone via IP address.

Once you've connected, the interface is quite similar to file explorer in windows.
