    Blackberry Curve 8310 + GPS + Rogers Wireless

    so...
    im hearing that i will be charged crazy amounts of data if i use my gps. is this true?

    i thought gps was always a free service as is uses satellite rather than cellular towers.

    GPS on the Cruve/8800 is free, but the maps take data as they are not stored on the phone, but are downloaded as you need them...so GPS is sort of free and sort of not. The data usage isn't huge. I don't have any exact numbers, but it is reasonable.

    rogers always finds a way to take your money.
    i guess i'll be better off buying a proper gps if i really do need it.

    I added on the $5 data plan as I am not on a BB plan right now. I tried bbmaps out, the amount downloaded is rather minimal.
