How about turning this into a sticky like the MDA/SDA/Wing/and Dash FAQ's?

It can take up to 24 hours for the data plan to start working, so give it time. If it's been more than 24 hours already, call Customer Care, and they'll check it out for you.Originally Posted by mobilesearchman
I have heard rumors that the Shadow has a 3G chipset but the T Mobile website specs list is crap and only mentions "high speed internet" which is actually just the EDGE network so I'm unsure. Does anyone know for sure if the Shadow is 3G capable? I'm trying to find out especially since I hear T-Mobile should be rolling out there 3G network real soon.
i have a question:
I have a few albums saved on my sd card. now i wanna play them on media player on the phone, but when i go to "library" it only shows the music on the phone itself, so i cant set up shuffle or a playlist or something. i have to select each song one at a time.
is there any way to have it play as shuffle or something for all the music on the storage card?
Go to this site http://dashapps.googlepages.com/ on the bottom it tells you how to work it. You have to use the settings for WM6 which are different from WM5. the WM6 settings require 2 proxies and 2 t mobile data settings
Full Screen ->Library->menu->update libraryOriginally Posted by roccobladr
that should find all your music on the memory card
Then back in the full screen view
menu->Shuffle/repeat
hope that helps/makes sense.
It can take some time for a new service addon to take effect. Did you try setting up a connection to a gmail pop3/imap mailbox, which doesn't go through the proxy I think.Originally Posted by mobilesearchman
If you use the above method, you may end up with ringtones and other "phone sounds" in the library that you don't want... been there, dont that. If all of your music is on the memory card, do this first:
Library > Menu > Library > storage card
That will make WMP look to your sd card for music items. Then do as above to update the library and shuffle.
Hmm, not going to be a useful faq if I can't edit my earlier post to add more info. Anyway, I helped Menneisyys sort out his open-link-to-opera-mini trick and now you can basically use opera mini 4 for all web functions.
So how does "speed dial" work on the Shadow?
When adding a contact or start menu item, you have choices from 1-99. It's obvious how to use the first 9 digits (press and hold that number key), but what about numbers 10+? I entered a few start menu items I use often to 11 and 12, but I have no idea how to use that. The manual does not discuss it.
You may have something. I just got the Shadow and my email and download speed is way too fast for EDGE. I am also surfing way too fast as well. I can not confirm if i am hitting any 3G networks but a side by side check against 3 other phones using edge the Shadow is way too fast for just the EDGE speed so something is up.

It finally came alive it just took the network some time to resolve. The i had to dance with the outgoing SMTP server issue with my ISP email (what a pain) now using T-mobiles outgoing SMTP server on the shadow.Originally Posted by badbob001
Thanks the network came alive in 36 hours.Originally Posted by trickinit

AFAIK, the Shadow still uses a Texas Instruments OMAP 850 processor. That chip is part of TI's 2.5 G chipset solution (aka EDGE only). To make it 3G capable would involve removing the chip and replacing it with a OMAP 1xxx, 2xxx, or 3xxx processor.Originally Posted by jaychz
