UPDATE (12/04/2007): Major WM6-related updates have taken place in the meantime.
In the meantime, my blog reader badbob001has refined the script. Now, if you click a link, you’ll be presented a choice list, where you can select whether to pass the given URL to Internet Explorer Mobile, Opera Mini, just copy to the clipboard or just cancel the operation. This will help you in selecting the right browser if you (still) plan to use IEM (or other native Web browsers like Opera Mobile, Netfront or Minimo).
Cool, eh?
Remember that you don’t need to deploy this script if you don’t need this kind of functionality but always want to be redirected right to Opera Mini. Therefore, I’ve also included the older version of this script in the ZIP file. It’s in the NoBrowserSelectionDialog subfolder. Note that this script has also been updated a bit: it checks for Jbed already running; if it is, then, it doesn’t wait that much. Again, thanks for badbob001 for refining and performance-tuning my initial script.
Note that the usual stuff applies: if the script doesn’t invoke Opera Mini but invokes something else, edit both occurrences of s0 and appropriately change 0 to a greater number.
Finally, note that, these updates & bugfixs being all WM6-related, I haven't edited the old, WM5-related, working MortScript file. If you need some speedup and/or dynamic, runtime selection of the browser you'd like to use, you'll want to copy either of the two new MortScript files - it'll work.
2. Upon HowardForums forum member volwrath’s bug report, I’ve enhanced the Registry import file to support invoking Opera Mini from all applications, not only Messaging and Notes. I wouldn't have thought WM6 is so half-baked (that is, half of the apps still depend on the pre-WM6 (that is, the HKCR/http/Open/Command) way of invocation). That is, the WM6 Registry import script has also been enhanced (basically, I've just added the contents of the old WM5-related Registry import file to it), not only the MortScript file.
Note that reading local files will still default to the system-level browser as I haven’t redefined the default application for opening .htm(l) files. That is, by default, Internet Explorer Mobile will open these.
Again and again, it can’t be stressed enough how much these hacks enhance the usability of Opera Mini under Windows Mobile! I really recommend giving Opera Mini a try – you certainly won’t regret it!
Does this also work for the i607 Blackjack? I followed the steps and when it inputs the URL in opera it places $v. I would assume this is a ctrl-v type function, but I am unsure whether my phone has that ability.

I am running the Tilt and have it working fine (but not integrated fully yet - I used the info to create a direct executable link).
However I cannot tap to paste in MINI4 - so according to your info, I need the proper Midlet Mgr. I thought I was using the latest because I am on XDA all the time and use and test the ROMs on there.
So if I am not using the correct one, please provide the link to the one your recommend.
My other hope is they provide a mode where the taskbar is always exposed so it integrates in better - not to mention making it skinable.
While I'm at it, my one other is to make the zoom settable for both min and max sizes - Then were talkin!

If you don't see any bars, then, you're already using Jbed and not TAO.

Use the older and less recommended Esmerted Jeodek if you REALLY need that. BTW, you can quickly switch to another program by any app key (or the OK key) on the built-in keyboard.
One other annoyance - is there any way of stopping all those security warnings - there does not seem to be a choice for don't ask in the security midlet i'm using - hmmm sounds like a pattern..

I don't want to use the keyboard - I use the pop-up gesture keyboard holding the Tilt Vertical. So is there a midlet for the Tilt that
1 - can tab to paste and
2 - shows the taskbar
3 - Had security that can be overridden?

And if so, what is the link?
Thanks for the quick reply!

1. you MUST use the SIP for pasting, unlike you use third-party key macro tools like PQzII, which allow for binding "Paste" to a hardware button
2. Again, are you sure you DO need the taskbar? Jeodek is not as good as Jbed, the most recommended MIDlet Manager.
3. you can do this with all of them.
4. Jbed is linked from my OM4 article, linked from the thread starter post.

Do you have a link to that?
And what do you mean "quickly switch to another program by any app key -how? I know how to assign buttons on the phone, but not app keys

Will, however, check the latest scripts on my Vox and report back.
Man.. all this is fantastic...
I'm using Jbed and OM4 on a i607 Blackjack.
Previously... After adding Jbed, killing the "ask permission" prompts, and making a shortcut to directly access OM4; I thought I was doing unbelievably great.
Now i've used all the fantastic advise from this thread and setup OM4 to be my default browser. This is the next level.
.... but alas I get the "v" as well. If you guys can work that out, OM4 will be KING of the HILL.

In the Comments section of my blog ( http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/ind...&pb=1#more2334 ), there has been a discussion of using SendKeys(url) to avoid having to use the clipboard (which doesn't seem to work on your model), its problems etc. badbob001's recommendation was the following:
"I suppose you can create a subroutine to read each character in the url and sendkey each letter, sleep, and loop."
Let me know if you can't code this function; then, I'll do it tomorrow. (Now, I'm in a hurry to the swimming pool and the sauna - it's pretty late here in Europe now).

that is, first, check whether SendKeys(url) works. it it doesn't, let me know and I code the char-by-char procedure
