    Software update 1.1.3

I was at the apple store tonight and someone was getting an update to 1.1.3 right there at apple genius. It's not being offered to me over itunes, but I saw it with my own eyes....

Yes it doesn't have any new features added but fixes some random bug. The update isn't worth it though because it probably won't fix the bug on your iphone but will only actually help a very small percentage of iphones.

If this is true this is great news for people that want to unlock out of the box 1.1.2 iPhones. As I understand it the dev team needs a newer update in order complete the 1.1.2 jailbreak/unlock.

oh this is starting to make sense, but not completely - why does the dev team need the next update in order to complete the jailbreak of a 1.1.2 ? is there code inside the next update that lets it "run" that the dev team wants to piggy back on?

Hm is this official? Someone should inform the Dev Team if there really is an update 1.1.3

    dwest,
Where are you getting your information from? What exact "bug" are referring to? Are you certain this update only fixes that one bug? I hope you know what you're talking about.

I read that 1.1.3 for iTouch/iPod was available. Are you sure it was an iPhone and not an iTouch?

You are probably right. I am trying to find the 1.1.3 announcement I read but no luck so far. Anyway, it is surprising that the Geniuses have something before it is generally announced - "my" Geniuses are usually the last to hear about anything new.

I don't even think a Mac Genius can even "install" anything that's not even officially released.

i saw this update last night for my NANO, but i wouldnt imagine they would come out with another iphone update only a few weeks after the last.. especially if it could help unlock them, apples whole goal is to prevent that our whole goal is to unlock them
