Question for i90 Swiss Army Phone Users

HI! I am asking for information about the i90 Swiss Army edition red nextel phone.

I have been seriously looking to buy a i90 Swiss Army phone. I love the way it looks. BUT before I buy a new phone just for the color I would like to ask a few questions.

Please respond if you have this phone. It is important to me and I do not want to waste my money if it is not a good phone.

    1. Does the red i90 Swiss Army nextel phone scratch easy? I heard it does scratch easy? This true?

    2. What do you like and dislike about your phone?

    3. I have a i90 currently, should I send my phone to hyperwireless and just get the case installed verses buying a whole new phone?

If so, is hyperwireless good and reliable? If you have gotten service from there before, is it fast?? I would have to ship my phone there. That kewl??

Thanks in advance for answers to these questions!

    1) The clear housings do scratch if you're not careful. Most of the time the scratches are caused by the holster. However, they're not really visable unless you really look for them.

    2) When it comes right down to it, it's still just a plain i90. If you already are using an i90 then you know what your own personal likes and dislikes are. The only thing different about the Swiss is the color.

    3) Hyper has the Swiss OEM housings in stock. If you already have an i90 you could save yourself some money and have them just do a housing and led swap.

    4) Hyperwireless is the best. Very reliable. They usually do the work to your phone the day they get it and send it out that day as well. Check out the thread in the Hardware forum. You'll see a lot of satisfied customers.

    lgreenberg,

thanks for your quick reply! You are awesome.

    One other question.

I have the i90 already. what is the place called where you view all your text messages, phone book, etc etc?? My screen is blue... kind of a light blue.... any way to change the color of the screen (i think that is what you call it)???

    Thanks!!
    Tina

I think you're asking about Iden Companion Pro:

    http://idenphones.motorola.com/iden/...panion_pro.jsp

The color of the inner LCD can't be changed.

There are two ways to change the quote under your name.

    1) Subscribe to Howard Forums by donating the $3/month subscription fee. Then you can create your own user text, as well as your own avatar, get a quick reply box, loose pop up ads and a few more options.

    2) Keep posting. Certain post totals carry different user titles. As your post count increases your user title will change.

Very well stated Larr...always so graceful under intense post exchanges...
    back on topic...
I have the OEM Swissphone...if U want it, buy the real think because by the time U get done with hyper, you'll be paying close to what a real one will cost. PS U will not be able to get the Special Edition chrome panneling that comes with the OEM Swiss... even from Steve (CLEARDRAGON) can get them.
Plus the real phone will tell you what to do if U get attacked by a bear or how to carve a boat out of wood with the 1.5 inch buckknife it comes with!

actually, use your current phone because the housing will cost about $120, you still have about $130 to burn (read mod), get the white keypad LEDs, you'll still have $90, Steve (ClearDragon) can get you the SE paneling for about $50, you'll still have $40 to have fun with.

I have seen, as well as executed myself, complete conversions, do you consider the pocket knife and apps worth $40? Thats basically what it comes down to.

Don't forget the $10 for the red holster.

Is the screen backlighting on a swiss red? I've only played with one and I can't remember.

$120 for the OEM red housing??? Last time I checked it was only $90. Which means he actually has $70 to play with!

ClearDragon and Hyperwireless are two different people. HyperWireless is the place you would go for the OEM housings and all your light mod's. Cleardragon on the other hand you go to for everything OEM! Pretty much OEM parts that you can't find no where else such as keypads, buttons, inner and outer panels, the back lables that say "motorola" or "nextel", and battery covers (phew)! The only thing OEM that HyperWireless provides are the housings.. So pretty much you will most likely use both ClearDragon and Hyperwireless to fix up your phone! ( Thats what I did, just check my sig)
