I'm looking forward to this phone! I might buy one if the price won't be too high...

Looks great to me. Slim bar-style phone (save the flips and slides for Fisher Price "My First Cell Phone" users) w/quad band and decent camera...I'm all about it. With the 880 still priced at $500, I'm also concerned that this won't be cheap. I guess the upside is that it won't be in everyone's pocket.

Anyone have any expected price/release date info?

I was lazy in that last post...just read the review on mobileReview.
They said that the price will be $700US upon release in Feb.
    Yikes!

700 is a bit much...what exactly are you paying for, it being slim? Maybe the memory

I don't think I could justify paying that much for a cell phone. I love the look, and that it likely won't be in every pocket around...but I couldn't care less about the music features. That being said, I think I'd still part with $500, just b/c I like the look and basic functions so much.

I'm definitely looking forward to the w890i although i will admit that the w880i does look sharper. I don't really use the camera all that much so 3.2 w/o autofocus is fine for me. I mainly use a phone for talking, texting, and listening to music. Don't use it for web browsing and would rather have more battery life than faster data speed i won't use, so edge speed is fine for if i just send or receive a picture message. Plus i like thin phones since i keep them in my pocket. And prefer bar form and love the long battery life of SE phones. I loved the w880i but its lack of 850 made it useless for me.

But i will wait a month or two to see if they sell it on www.sonystyle.com like they do with the w880i so i can have a no hassle US SE warranty.

    Great review of the w890:

Looking forward. Hopefully it's not too expensive.

Wonder how the new button layout will feel and work. Digging the 3 soft keys, and the dedicated send/end keys, but the walkman button on the side means no play/stop button. I like that button. Oh well....

After seeing the w890, I bought myself a w880 on eBay for $230.
So there's only 2 other people besides me that think the w880 looks a lot nicer than the w890?

I would have to say that I am actually digging the "new" look. I like the new keypad a lot better and the all silver metal look. May be on my list of upcoming purchases.

I don't recall the review where they listed the expected retail price, but i think it was mobileReview...They said $800.

I would say it will be less than the W960i which in the $600 range, was around $700 upon initial release. I've seen the W890i listed for a pre-order of $499 somewhere online, can't remember where though.

I'm looking forward to it, just not sure if I will want to give up my K850 and 3G. Stupid companies, how hard is it to include a US frequency when you already have a 3G chip in it?

yeah, it's really too bad. Love the look and quad band GSM, but what a bummer they didn't put in the tri-band UMTS.

    Another nice review:

    http://www.phonearena.com/htmls/Sony...ew-r_1881.html

I don't believe the Mobile Review proyected price.
Come on! Almost twice as much as the iPhone? No Way!

I'm with T-Mobile so EDGE is good enough. I love the looks and the form factor.

Want this phone for everyday use and then use the iPhone as my weekend device.

This phone looks so hot! The w760 tempted me for a minute there, especially with the stereo speakers and 3g for US, but not into sliders, and this phone looks awesome.

I'm just trying to decide on color. I've always gotten black colored phones, however the pics of the silver version of this phone are stunning! I think it might be too much of an attention grabber however. The silver pics look hot tho!

Looking at some of the black pics I've found online don't look that great, but I just watched this little ad video on SE's site for the phone ( http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/prod...0i?cc=us&lc=en ) and it shows the black version, and it looks hot too!!

What color are you guys going for?
