In the tutorial is written: You can't backup files to PC.

My gals...
(of course...)
You cant just copy from phone to computer with DB2020 (its a 1 way road).Originally Posted by binqker

and trick the phone into thinking it s upgrading something, it then moves the files you select to the directory you list in the xml generator.
I have not tried it, but looks like other have hand success...
Hey
ok i have followed every step in this i think. i even put in the custom upgrade to unblock my flash theme but i think it was already unblock. i put both the flash menus and corresponding themes into tpa -> preset -> system -> desktop -> flash. when i unplug everything and turn on my phone, no new themes show up except for the original four. im sure i copied it because my cell phone memory decreased..
any ideas why ?
what model of phone? Does it support flash themes?Originally Posted by wheresmy
If so then... this copied from somthing old...
====== Flash Menus ====== **** NOTE that there are 2 steps to this, and 2 different folders.
Navigate to \FS\tpa\preset\system\desktop\flash on the left side.
Navigate to your SWF on the right side.
Highlight "DisableFlashDesktop" on the left side using the right mouse button, and press F8 to delete it.
then copy .SWF to that dir on phone
**** The following part is only if you want to store the flash themes in the phone's memory. You can skip this part and copy them over to your Memory Stick later, or copy them using bluetooth, etc. The .THM theme files do not need to be stored in a particular place, as long as they are accessible from the phone. ****
Navigate to \FS\usb\theme on the left side.
Navigate to x:\wherver you have your .thm files on the right side.
Highlight on the right side using the right mouse button, and press F5 to copy them to the phone.

that was from an old tutorial...
if you debranded it it should have some flash themes on it.
Does it?
what firmware, FS, and cust did you flash it with?
it does have some flash themes on it, i want to add some more flash themes. is that possible?
# Sony Ericsson W580i FS
# Sony Ericsson W580i MAIN
# Sony Ericsson CID52 ASIA Customisation
it was all from this http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=1267845
the following i found from topsony forum. i was wondering will this method work ?
"Hello Restivo,
I also debranded my phone with WoTan.
To Upload files to your w580i
Download XS++ 1.68
Place all the flash files (.swf) in the following path (Where your XS++ executable is located):
files_to_upload\tpa\preset\system\desktop\flash
Start XS++
Click on connect and connect your phone
Click on Customize
Go to Settings and click on BreakXS
Go to FSX and click on Start FSX.
Wait a couple of minutes and you're done.
Now you will need themes to use the flash files you've just uploaded.
Download and install TUG ZIP TUGZip - The Free Archiving Utility
Find a theme that you want to modify to use a flash menu on.
rename the file from XXXX.THM to XXXX.tar
Extract the files into a subfolder
Locate the .xml file
edit the file in notepad.
Locate the line: Sony_Ericsson_theme version="4.1"
Enter this after the line:
<Desktop_style Type="File" Source="XXXX.swf"/> where XXXX.swf is the name of the flash theme you wish to use.
Save and exit from notepad.
Highlight all the files you've extracted and right click on a file and click on add to archive.
Select the TAR format and zip the files.
Rename the zipped file from XXXX.TAR to XXXX.THM
Upload the THM to your phone.
Enjoy your new flash theme."
I like to use far.
All you should have to do is put the swf's and thrm's and the phone should be good to go.
Hey Matts,
Did you ever changed the font text for your phone?
Edit: i finally got the flash themes working. i fixed it by copying and pasting the themes from the computer to the phone without the far manager. since i alrdy put the swf file in there, its working
