I now have a link to the V03 bin file and the 1.21 DLL msi installer on my www.humpa.com/vzw page

Use this thread to discuss how to flash your Venus to V03 at home.

I assume this is all you need to flash the Venus with V03, but so far this is untested.

I didn't post the rapidshare links here, because after a few hours I won't be able to edit this post. But I'll be able to edit my vzw page forever, so even if the rapidshare links stop working, I'll just update them.

That is the best flashing guide - just follow Part 1 and don't worry about part 2 where it mentions needing to fill in the "SCR File Path:", "PRL File Path:", or "ERI File Path:"

It might be a while, or might not, there's really no easy way to know or tell. Easiest thing is to get the phone when you want to get it, and if it doesn't already have the latest firmware just have them flash it right then and there at the VZW corporate store (or take it to one if you aren't getting it from a VZW corporate store), that is assuming it doesn't get posted somewhere (like here) and you can upgrade it yourself.

I guess the bigger question is what's been changed.

imo order it, take it in for phone book transfer and have it flashed if needed.

V02 was just 2 weeks ago. New inventory last week arrived as V02.

Voyager is already up to V05....

Voyager only had 2 software updates. It came with V03 installed, and V05 was released a few weeks later. (there was no V04)

It would be nice to know what they changed, to anyone who can get that information. I would imagine they probably fixed the large SD card issues, but what else.

haha - i just asked the dumb techs at my local store last week and THIS MORNING about when the update would come out since the voyager one has been out for 3 weeks now. of course they still had no clue about the bugs with the venus i want to go back tonight just to prove the dumbasses wrong...

Are you signed up for MyAccount? Just download Backup Assistant for free and avoid hassling them over trying to get the phonebook transfer for free

I know It fixes issues with the touch screen (lower screen) going blank. It also fixes issues with the music essentials manager not displaying the correct total free space available on your device and the memory card.

What I listed is the only thing it fixes/does. That's why the update only takes approx 4 minutes.

It fixes issues with the touch screen (lower screen) going blank and unresponsive. You had to power cycle to get it working again.
It fixes issues with memory cards over 4GB.
