I currently use the $5/5MB on my iphone. If data is just data, then I guess we shouldn't have to worry about this, here's hoping that it'll all work out in the end and this becomes unlimited for us. Not just for iphone users, but people whom use Opera mini, etc. I am looking forward to hearing what treatz has to say.

Are your edge settings set to goam.com or internet.com? I ask just because on page one someone refers to the $5 unlimited on device browsing being limited to goam.com. If you are currently using goam.com I would imagine that the new $5 unlimited would work on the iphone.

All I care about is having enough data to get push email on my Q9h. I burn through my 10MB each month no problem and only receive 2-3 emails a day on average, so I cant really justify a $65 or $80 plan.

I'll be watching this thread closely for more details...

You'll have to wait anyways. These plans don't kick in until Feb apparently.

Oh, and the mobile browsing for wap is $7, not $5 and for Rogers certified devices only. So that means anyone with an unlocked device is SOL so you better cash in with the navigate plan because they will be expiring as well.
    nonsense.

Users with the $5/2mb plan were automatically upgraded when it became $5/5mb.

I can finally publically laugh my ask off at those impatient ppl who jumped ship to Telus for this. I hope you enjoy the lousy browsing experience on the touch/pearl...for the next 2+ years lol

Excellent news... but like everyone else, Im wondering how they are going to track what and where you are using. I can understand either using just goam, or a hard cap using any APN, etc....

Personally, I like swapping SIMS from one phone to another depending on what Im doing (eg, at a bar use krzr, during work htc windows mobile, etc...) so Id hate to be stuck with one phone... but understand where they need to be careful with tethering and full out html browsing. I guess we just need the fine print and usage so we can understand how to make it work.

Rogers usually does give upgrade you. When I had the $20 Comm. Pack., Rogers upgraded me to the 5mb of data as soon as it replaced 2mb.

    iphone and new data plans

Ok I have the Vision $5/10MB now and I am on the 3month unlimited promotion and it has been working fine. I am using internet.com as my edge settings. If I am reading correctly, some are saying the new data options will not work as it is now with the unlimited. Is this correct?

If the unlimited phone internet is not available to a blackberry, will I also lose my 5$/5mb plan? (am not interested in a blackberry plan, i want internet more than email and 2mb of internet will go no where).

i was talking to rogers data department and the person suggested the $65 for 1Gig plan without me even bringing it up... and i asked him... but isn't that just for PC Cards? He said "no you can use it on any device; it's just named that because that is its suggested use"... so maybe the no PDA/Windows Mobile/Blackberry is just a suggestion too! heh
