For those guessing about IMEI check.

2 things to think about, the 2nd more solid.

1> Rogers apparantly has a new billing system (I'm not sure if its Tuxedo based any longer); and not all reps have access to it. just me bugging Rogers again.

2> For the current Memory Promotions (W580, Samsung, K850i) You'll notice a lot of a few numbers in the IMEI entry box are ALREADY pre-Determined.
That tells me already they have a full list of IMEI (all providers do according to billing, just like the manufacturers so they know if a customer played with the firmware, or trying to get a free unlock ).

Take it as a grain of salt but its something to consider.

Regardless of the 3mths free promotion I'm sure at least 1 of those months somebody is going to be caught with HUGE data charges because Rogers site is explicitly clear of their restrictions ... BEST I've seen on their site thus far for years no holes.
    My Feedback
    Perspective instantiates reality.

I've noticed that but I also noticed that the IMEI numbers they provide are also the same for Unbranded non-Rogers K850's

So the IMEI follows Treatz unlocked K850i right? Cool! So April bills may not be so high anyway.

lol, 20K+ posts, you're kidding with that post, right?
For those that don't know IMEI doesn't/isn't supposed to change with Firmware flashing (or CDA flashing for that matter). However, with the right tools & the right ppl you "could" change the IMEI but its illegal in many country's - too difficult so not worth the bother anyway.

Oh I am well aware changing it is possible, but with this post...

You make it sound as if flashing or unlock does change it.

I used Opera (minimal use) + the IE (mostly) from my touch; with the 20$ com package.

Last month I was not billed for data. So I'm not really sure what's going on. Since I'm not supposed to be able to user opera without getting charged. Then again; i'm not even supposed to be able to use my HTC Touch either without getting billed...

I just got off the phone with Rogers, as I wanted to change my TXT plan and was going to get the $6/125. Instead she told me of the $5/500. I should have checked here first. lol
