Very nice. Price is a little steep compared to the 8100 though.
What is the colour scheme? Pics?

it appears black only at this point
Black as in it is indistinguishable from the original pearl?Originally Posted by Treatz

This phone was rumored to have GPS. Is there anything in the release about that?

Is this thing still EDGE without Wifi?
well this makes me feel much better about switching to telus for the 8130. gps and unlimited data for 15$. oh and the phone at $0
i was going to stick around for the 8120 which was rumoured to be picked up by Rogers with wi-fi for surfing when in a wi-fi hotspot, etc.
oh well, i still miss GSM lol
250 minutes / unlimited E&W 6PM / unlimited incoming / R2R / CID, VM, 2500 SMS / 500 int'l SMS / 100 LD / 6GB data
$55 + $2.13 + tax = $64.56
Everyone thinks wifi on a berry = Free data...Originally Posted by nidserz

Wifi is the transport..
meaning, youll use wifi, but it connects back to the RIM backend.. you'll still need a berry data plan for surfing/email with or withough Wifi
Just wanted to clarify
I got to see a 8110 in Blue from a Rogers employee the other day.
Got to play with it a bit and it feels nicer than the 8100... I know they look the same but the feel seemed different.
Anyways it was nice but still a Blackberry....
does this one have wifi?

WRONG! I thought the SAME thing ... and it WAS true with initial release of the TMobile 8320. Also for others on the 8120 ... again initially.Originally Posted by Treatz
There are some GREAT threads over on BBForums ... and one that I myself got challenged with here in the Rogers thread.
Now Treatz; I'm not shutting you down on this point ENTIRELY; in order to get FREE WiFi on a BB you'll need a data plan first to get Service Books pushed to it on either your 8320/8100 ... OR (and SHOULD BE the case as with all out of box BB's) service books are there, and you need to GET 2 service books; but I'm unsure which ppl would be after for free internet. I've seen these on a Tmobile used 8320 so I'm still guessing.
* WiFi TCP/IP Browser [BrowserConfig]
* WiFi TCP/IP Transport [WPTCP]
CAUTIONARY NOTE!: If you want to use WiFi for PUSH email = Rogers (or other BB Provider) Data plan is a MUST. IF you want your BBMaps, BBMessenger, or other RIM based application to use WiFi (on 8320/8120) = BB Data Plan is a MUST. IF you want third party BB apps like Opera Mini, BBToday, etc ... then its anyone's guess that doesn't have first hand usuage.
Personally I've never owned any WiFi BB device so this can be challenged.
some threads of interest....

^ which is 10 pages long on the 8320 in general which would help some others inquiring of WiFi enabled BB's.

Back on Topic ....
I had a feeling Rogers was going to jump on this just after Vodafone just got the 8110. Now ... lets see if this will hurt some of the 8310's sales. I can see a few females to purchase this as its sleeker in width and just as readable on text as the 8300 series. Personally I like the "phone" form factor of the Pearls better than the Curve's ... but each to their own devices I guess.
Also notice the Menu/ESC keys extend & join just under the "pearl" compared to the 8100 model. And if anyone is buying this used ... you can ALWAYS goto Options> About and see the device & platform.
