New Pearl OS - US Cellular 4.3.0.97

there seems to be a glitch with this OS. when texting i get the "input system error" errror. when i type a word and press space, the word typed disappears. has anyone seen this?

I have used this for a few days, and have not experienced this with TXT, MMS, Email or anything yet.

Start w/the "dumb questions." Are you sure you deleted the XML file?

Another "dumb question" ... Did you run the .exe file in the update you downloaded? If you don't install the update, the program won't know that the update is there.

So, you're going to be difficult, eh? ;-)

Try:

Reboot your computer
Reboot (battery pull) the Pearl
Connect Pearl (does the computer "see" it?)
Start DM (does DM connect properly?)
Run App loader (does it prompt you to upgrade the OS at launch? If not, when you run it to the screen that lists all the modules, are the Pearl modules listed as "Update?"

Woot! it worked. Thanks for the help Redflea and Radduke. Now to check out what is new.

One thing that I noticed that is different. When you get a voicemail, it shows in the text messages section. Before the .97 update I didn't get an audible notification on Telus or Alltel...Now I get the same sound that I get when a text message is received. To me this is very helpful!

Something odd on your Pearl...try a battery pull (can't remember if you said you'd tried that yet).

What if you just type "dont" (let the Pearl put in the apostrophe) or type "Hey you" (something w/out the apostrophe?).

nope... it only happens when i put "hey don't". it happens every once in a while though. it's enough to annoy me. i even did a soft reset with the soft reset software and all seems to be working fine. then i tried it again in a couple of hours and it happened AGAIN. it annoyed me so i downgraded back to Alltel.

has anyone else noticed anything about the led indicator not blinking after a while? i want the upgrade, but not if the blinking stops after a certain amout of time.

I noticed something odd after the upgrade. When I get a BB Messenger message my phone doesn't alert me even though it is set to high and a ringtone (both in and out of holster).
