has anyone who has upgraded to the new OS experienced any troubles with their input system? Okay, that doesn't make much sense.
Basically, when entering in text messages now or even using BlackBerry Messenger, it will delete words while I am typing them. Or when I press the space, it puts a period and won't continue. Weird stuff like that. Sometimes it'll just lock up and then give me a error saying that it's restarting the input system or something like that and then it'll start working again. Did a couple of battery pulls, etc. but it still keeps coming back. Not sure what the deal is but I might have to revert back to a older OS. Maybe AllTel's...I really like not having to say OK when I press the standby button and the response time has been fantastic with this new OS.
sad.
The standby fix is in all OSs after Verizons, so you'll have that with any other release of the Pearl 4.3 OS.
I haven't seen anything like what you're experiencing...sorry. Would be very annoying.
well...the problems with the input thing have just about drove me crazy.
so, i am going to try to reload the US Cellular OS again and if it fails me, I'm downgrading to the Alltel OS.
Wish VZW would have just made their correctly the first time around to include the standby and the memory free-ing up-ing. Wow, that was englishly correct. NOT.

FINALLY!!!! someone having the same issue as me.... if you go back a few pages on this forum, i stated the SAME thing and people thought i was going insane! i reloaded the US Cell. OS and it happened again. This os is a joke compared to the Alltel one.

You are going insane...but now you're not alone. ;-)
This is very strange stuff. Given I've only seen two instances of it reported across both here and the BBForums web site, it does seem to be a very uncommon (though very annoying) issue...

haha i may be insane but i know it happens when it happens, when is quite often when i had .97. i'm back on Alltel and all is well again
well work is slow today so i guess i'll be "downgrading" to alltel which in this case seems to be a upgrade. my poor little pearl, taking so much OS reloading abuse.
glad i'm not alone in the issue. such a weird problem, though. and of course since it's not VZW's software, i can't really go in and tell them to give me a new one.
oh yeah...so..um..does anyone know how to downgrade? because it's not really working. when i did the upgrade, i did all the usual steps...and after i load DM, it prompts me to upgrade...but when I do the older version, it doesn't prompt me. any suggestions?
nevermind. uninstalled from the control panel the update and then installed the older one. application loader in DM prompted me. got it under control.
i reinstalled the USCC .97 OS and now it's working fine. that prompt (input system is blah blah blah.... restarting) is now gone. I suggest you reinstall the .97 os like some people here suggested. it's working fine for me now.
yeah, let me know in like...a week or so. the problem seemed to come and go for me. a battery pull would fix it for a while and then it'd be back.
went down to alltel's version and it's working like a gem. might just stick with this for a while.
so far, reinstalling the OS has been great. the problem haven't popped up yet. i'll see how it goes. but as soon as it shows up, i'll be back to alltel
