well, see that's the thing. "mobile browsing" was included as a bonus, not "web applications".

In the "new" web plans, it explictly states 3rd party applications are included whereas the old one did not. I'm not arguing that mobile browsing wasn't promised to the invidual, i'm just saying that they might change the definition of it, if in fact there is a difference.

how can you argue when you have nothing documented (advertised) except for some "notes" on your accounts saying that you only have "mobile browsing" as a bonus.

well, it'd be interesting to see what people on the old plan will be getting on their bills in the next few months. Speaking from personal experience, what a CSR/rentention rep/ supervisor has promised "via notes" means nothing when the computer system itself does not accept it.

Yes and they have told everyone here plus thousand of others "Yes mobile browsing IS included in this plan, anything except tethering" for like 3-4 month and now they would take it away??
The old plan includes browsing and the new one doesn't, it's just a new plan, they won't touch the old one. Plus, we've seen a bulletin copied pasted from nakoda saying that the person who had unlt'd browsing option will be grandfathered

But hey, if you wanna pay 15$ more for advertised browsing, it's up to you

I've had the old $15 plan for two or three invoices now and no charges. It always included apps as well and trust me when I say that Telus won't take it away from us. They are the kings as far as grandfathering goes.

i think you've missed my point.

all i'm just saying is that hypothethically they could pull a rogers and say that browsing is limited to preloaded browser only, and there is really nothing you can do.

Not saying they will, or are, but just technically since 3rd party apps is technically not "mobile browsing".

Wirelessly posted (HTC S640: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows CE; IEMobile 7.6))

The notes I have on my account state that my Unlimited Email and IM has unlimited mobile browsing included and will have it included post Feb 3rd.

At which point, I then called back and had a second CSR read and document it. Not including the note put in there by the LnR.

stop your *****ing... the Telus rep over the phone told me its worded as "unlimited device application data" and made a note on my account anyways. And they could never tell the difference! I used my e815 on bell with the $5 'unlimited wap browser' plan for almost 3 years using VNC, Streaming, Opera, IRC, MSN, my own free MMS server, SSH, etc.. They never caught on or didn't really care.(ports under 1024 required custom proxy in WebSessions, ports over 1024 were not blocked)

Besides all I read about is you guys using youtube, not like half of you are using the full capabilites of these devices anyways! So ****ing relax!

Now I'm gonna walk around my house streaming my Touches Camera to a linux VLC server for no reason at all!

Oh ya one more thing I mentioned in another lost thread, the only thing they are tracking right now is the domains you visit with Pocket IE(not the full URL just the domain) via IPv6 packets sent from your device everytime you load a webpage. I have a theory that every device has a Internet accessible IPv6 address which would be really, really, really cool.. Though I have been far too lazy this week to find PPC host software that supports IPv6 and confirm this. (After the GPS ROM is released you can login to you're phone remotely, wait till you hear snoring, locate via GPS, and sneak up on that guy that stole your phone with a baseball bat!)

Nothing except cancel and raise all kinds of hell, get the hundreds of hofo'ers and other sites worth of people whom have this plan to call in and make the reps lives miserable with our bit**ing until something is done.

Except we wont need to, because even Telus is too smart to do something that stupid.

When did Telus had $15 promo UL for ALL PDA/BB (that expired Feb 3)? I thought the promo was only for HTC/BB? (ie: not Treos?)

As I stated above they started offering the plan on all data phones a while ago now. I would say its been a month or so ago but if you do a search you could find the exact date.

am i the only one that finds that this 7 page thread has 5 pages of uselessness. arguing back and forth about stuff that have passed.

those who waited 2 long TOO BAD SO SAD. u snooze u loose. u coudl have bought a second and hand pda while waiting for ur contract to finish and waiting for whatever phone it was u were waiting for most of u said the curve. now u will have to pay the more expensive monthly charge.

ill never understand customers getting the phone for free is the most important. well its not when u sign ur life away for 3 years u got a discount and they are less willing to give u a discount in the future. so the more expensive rate plan for a one time discount. now the cheapest unlimited plan is 15$ more do that times 36 months 540$ + taxes uve paid the phone back right there.

im sorry theres a reason i dont sign contracts. i dont threaten to leave but u better believe i get everything i want. cuz i can leave anytime i want no cancellation fees
