Can anyone clarify or add to this list? Are we allowed to surf on Opera Mobile? Are we allowed to view full page versions of say FaceBook? The screen may be small but EV-DO is fast. I'm looking to get the HTC S720...

    sorry that's false

the web browsing feature is only available on the Motorola M800 Bag Phone
Telus values you as a customer and regrets any inconvenience this may have caused

Just a heads up for everyone regarding Skype. I use iSkoot on my Palm Treo 650 right now which basically uses wireless web to log onto Skype to grab Contacts. But when you make a call, it doesn't go through the web but rather dials a local access number so it doesn't stream, just uses your airtime. If you have unlimited evenings and weekends, it's a great way to make free calls to Skype users and cheap long distance calls (I paid $30 for a years worth of unlimited North American calling). Seems there's a Windows Mobile version so I can definitely use that when I get my HTC S720. It doesn't cost anything, I assume they receive commission from Skype...

(Sorry I didn't mean to seem like I'm spamming, I'm just happy I found a Windows Mobile version of the software.)

I still have to say that I feel sorry for all those who have to pay $45 for what most of us here at Hofo are getting for $15.

The $45 package isn't that bad. I needed the u/l text messaging. Right now, I've got the same features of the $45 plan for about $32, but only because I was lucky enough to get the lowdown from Hofo.
But on the plus side, I knocked over the SunSphere.

    Muh Plan:
    300 min
    U/L E&W at 6PM
    U/L Texting
CDN LD @ $0.10 per min
USA LD @ $0.20 per min
    6 GB Data
    U/L Bell to Bell Local
    $50/month with no SAF/911

I don't know why you feel bad. The plan was around forever when it started with the Touch, Pearl and S720.

Yes, it got opened up for a month, but there was PLENTY of time for people to make a decision. I, myself, was going to bother until they opened it up to all Data devices and unexpectedly gave me retentions offer (way better than what was originally given to me).

Looking past the fact that you are paying $15 dollars, people are still moving here from Rogers, even with the new plans, because currently, they blow Bell and Rogers out of the water, even at $45 dollars.

I'm coming from Rogers for the $45 plan I mean yea it sucks I have to pay more than the $15 plan but I'm sure that deal will come back and I'll be there to jump on it. It's still a bargain compared to what Robbers offers.

YouTube mobile's videos are 69kbps or 8.5kb/sec, a fraction of what EVDO is capable of. Would they really care if you wanted to check out a video every once in awhile? I would understand they would check it out if we were really abusing the system but checking out a short video once a week wouldn't raise alarms would it?

It was more of a sarcastic post that even the $45 plan can easily be had for $30 if you get the right L&R rep. I added mine Feb. 2nd (still had unlimited 3 months), and I'm glad I did!

you should probably clarify this statement.

I think you meant that a person MIGHT be able to get the $30 data package with Caller ID, Voice Mail10, and unlimited text being thrown in as FREEBIES, which would make that package the same as getting the $45 one that includes everything we've just mentioned.

    That's what you meant, right?

Last thing we want is people calling into Telus, asking for the $45 package to be discounted to $30, and get upset when the rep tells them that it cannot be done.

    I think we all do

Gone are the days when I go,

"I wonder how much data I've used up..."
"Is this constantly streaming data? That'll cost me..."
"I better not open that picture file because it's 3MB, then I'll only have 1MB left..."

    lol

    now it's more like,

"I need to check this, that, and do that as well. Done. Cost for overusage? Limit? what are those?"
