    Blacklisted IMEI phone question...

    i was wondering if a phone from europe is blacklisted, will it still work in the U.S.?
    I have never made it above 6Mbps on my iPhone 4.

    Yes it will. US carriers don't really care what your device's IMEI is, since they use it only to find out the make and model of the device, if it is supported by the network. US Carriers only track you by your phone number, not by the device you use.

    and there has been no word if or when a blacklist is coming to north america

    I wish there was a blacklist. Then the **** that took my E61 wouldn't have gotten the pleasure of using it!

    Not only does the country have to blacklist phones, it also has to share teh same database with other countries. So, a blacklisted phone in the UK will work in Asia, US, etc. if those countries do not share the same blacklist database as the UK. For example a few years back, a phone blacklisted on one UK network, could still be used on anothr UK network. But that has all been taken care off now. So once blacklisted by one network it will not work on any network in the UK.
