I think the point is, people who have a Rogers phone would like to know that if they go over their range, they are not going to have to touch their toes and fear a pineapple.
Pennies for a megabyte is far better than pennies for a kilobyte.
Don't get me wrong, I still think that Rogers is targetting the majority of people to be in the $50 dollar range 60M to 500M, but they have the piece of mind that if they exceed that range, it's $10 dollars.
Unless I am wrong?
I was making a point that in the end Rogers is making a killing no matter how you look at it.....and with this new tier plan people are fooled into a false sense of savings over old plans/rates....looks like Rogers did their job right.
it says it right on the package that it uses the network towards. and has sar levels etc. and it acts as a celluar device.
have u read the labels on the package?
The best part when i tried out portable internet.
Well if u dont have good wireless cell phone coverage in ur area sir, then this isn't going to work well, since it uses the rogers wireless towards.
Hm
You have no idea what you're talking about. I have used Portable internet and iFido (same thing). IT IS NOT CELLULAR DATA. It's a whole different system. Bell's sympatico unplugged runs on the same towers as Rogers portable, and one of their plans has a 2GB cap. Also, portable internet coverage is MUCH SMALLER than cellphone data coverage.
Oh, and one of Rogers HOME internet services also now has a 2GB cap!
And furthermore, if you use more than 5GB on 90% of cellphone carriers networks in the world, you are cut off or charged for it. It is not meant to be a home service and there is no reason to use that much data on wireless.
you spoke to CR? I did it on 2 Touches when I price matched them from Telus who at the time had them FREE!
How do you get retentions. I told the CR that MTS had it for 99 bucks and she did not do much just offered a 100 credit , and I even indicated that I was ready to switch.
The nice thing here is, it doesn't appear to be an issue how you use the data, so the occasional tether to sync lotus notes, or send an important email from my lappy would work. Plus allowing these plans on non Rogers devices is great too. Rogers is the only provider in Canada that allows this and even provisions for it (Granted they have little choice)...
