It says "You are attempting to open a secure connection, but the server's certificate has expired."
I am not trying to browse the web or anything. It just pops up randomly. When I view certificate i get:

I am getting the same thing from time to time....
me too, I assume its a RIM issue and happening when checking mail. Im on BES if it makes a difference.

It's an issue with wi-fi devices currently. Knowledgebase article here.
I only get this issue when my curve sees a wifi network it can't connect to. When I am at work I work next to a panera bread, and because you have to accept an agreement for their wifi to work my phone it never fully connects and that's when i get the problem. When I am home and connected to a wifi that I can access I have no issues, so now i have to shut off my wifi when at work.
same here, using BIS on Fido.
I called BB and they stated that all certificate errors belong to the carrier interesting that you would have a similar issue on another carrier...

I am have the same issues with my BB 8320 on Rogers to as well.
I am using BIS, with latest software 4.2.2.184
