anyone else had this issue with their Touch?
when i push the top button to put the phone into "sleep mode" sometimes and not all the time I don't receive my calls or txts until I push the top button again to take the phone off sleep mode. it's really annoying!

Did both of you install anything? Sounds like some software may be locking it up or the CDMA ROM isn't very good.

It seems some are plagued by this and others don't have any problems at all, I would try a hard reset first, and if no luck try and get it replaced as defective if that is a possibility for you

close all running programs before you switch to sleep mode. This usually works for me. I think it has something to do with the memory, if there isn't enough memory available..it will be harder/take longer to get out of sleep mode (like a computer).
Please note this may not work for everyone especially ones with 3rd party apps running all the time like S2U etc. Hope this helps!

Yeah, you may want to back it up and then hard reset and without restoring anything, see if it still does it. If so it should be exchanged.

My brother has this same problem...it seems as long as he power cycles the phone at least once per day it's ok. (That probably has something to do with the memory resources huh?)

It might be relater to the SD card...Try taking the SD card out and see if its giving you the same problem.
