I'd bet this will replace the 8700.

    That looks pretty sweet...
    The outside screen looks HUGE
I'm not sure if I'm a fan of the silver/black/red color scheme though

I think the decision for this vs the vx9700 might come down to camera quality...

    EDIT:
Was just thinking about the naming scheme here... Wouldn't it make more sense for it to be called the 8650 or the 8750?

These days, there's really no rhyme or reason to LGs numbering. You used to be able to look at a number and get a pretty good idea of what type of phone it will be. Those days have passed.

Looks like a red krzr mated with an 8700 and this is the offspring

The side of the top-hinge looks like the one used on the Motorola V9m.
That makes me wonder if this might be a flip phone?
=> Read my reviews for the Motorola DROID MAXX, DROID Ultra, and DROID Mini.

    => VX8000 at Disney World:Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4.

It sure looks that way. And I agree, I'd bet that this is the 8700's replacement. I like the design. It's chocolate like on the outside, razr like hinge, a nice sized screen. This one will definitely be a good seller for them I'd think. I would like to know/see what the inside looks like. I'm wondering how the keys will be layed out and how large the internal screen will be. Also, I'm wondering what the camera resolution will be? It has to have a camera on it, but its not on the top of the flip like most traditional flips have. It must be on the back, but that would be awkward. Well, I take back what I said about the camera being on the front. It appears that there is a camera above the VZW logo. If that is the case, my complaint about that will be that if the front is plastic and not glass, the lens plastic will get easily scratched.

This definitely is not what I expected. I was thinking the KM710 would be the new chocolate http://www.phonearena.com/htmls/LG-K...y-pg_2617.html

This is a mish-mash of other phones. RAZR Hinge, 8600 Slimness (notice no antenna bump, Muziq flip-type music player.

We have no reason to believe this is the new Chocolate.

Like I said earlier, I'd suspect this will replace the 8700.

The more I look at this, the more it looks like a flip and not a slider.
At the top of the phone (above the Verizon logo) it looks like a small circular camera lens. If that is a camera, then the phone would have to be a flip.

    Did anyone ever think otherwise?

if you look closely at the top right above the verizon logo you can see a circle, which is probably the camera.
