they called it the ocean because it was supposed to have everything in it, right? following that principal, the ocean 2 should have this...
1.) larger touch screen. The first ocean was good, but there is nothing wrong with having a bigger screen AND making it touch!
2.) 8 GB external memory. I don't care if it's under the battery, cause if it can handle 8 gigs, I probably won't be swapping it out that often
3.) d-pad must go buh-bye. trackball is a great idea, joystick is eh. A joystick in your pocket or pouch could easilly break.
4.) upgrade the camera! the fin has a 3 mp...is it too hard to ask for that? I wouldn't mind a 5 mp like the n95...
5.)wifi wouldn't be PRACTICAL with 3G, but it'd be nice!
6.) make this bad boy more customizable! i want my own sounds when I slide it, when i get a text, and when I turn it off and on!
7.) Do something with the keypad! I thank God for my phonebook cuz I hate going to that layer!
even if the o2 didn't have any of this, i'd still get it just because!
Oh! Sorta like the Predator...only instead of huntin' people he's kinda, like, crappin'.

- I'm not sure if this has been mentioned, but I would hope that the O2's camera could take photos at full resolution no matter whether the user is shooting with the numeric keypad (traditional phonecam style) or with the qwerty keypad (the only to shoot @ full resolution w/ the current Ocean).
- I think it'd also be nice if they incorporated the ability to learn new words in the T9 text prediction. A more tangible numeric keypad would be nice, too. To this day, I still have to look away from the screen if I want to hit the *, 0, and # keys (say, if I have a drink in my hand and can't be bothered with the lovely qwerty pad)...
- I'd actually prefer that Pantech keeps the SD card under a flap, rather than under a battery. I take the card out pretty often when I want to load photos onto my PC (emailing them to myself or UP'ping them to Flickr one by one can be a pain when there are a ton of photos in question). If the SD card is under the battery, I hope that Helio UP can eventually get the option of UP'ping multiple photos at one time (or is it already possible to do this? I haven't figured out if that is the case)...
You can do up to 3 I believe. And I think maybe a good option if they do end up putting the SD card under the battery for people that want to easily copy pics over to their pc would maybe be a bluetooth transfer option.Originally Posted by MinceyFresh

Data cable + phone + computer= drag and drop
I wouldn't get your hopes up for a touch screen guys... I'm just sayin'
Chances are it will support High Cap SD cards, so 8gb could be a definite option. It's almost the same design setup we're all use to based on what we've seen from the FCC.
From the Sidekick ppl I've spoken to, they kinda hate their track ball, plus I think it would throw off the lines of the device anyway to have this weird little ball sticking up out of the smooth surface.
if this thing doesnt have a touch screen i will be pissed unless it has a much better browser
I think we can pretty well assume that it is not going to be touchscreen. My only concern now is whether or not the OS will be the same, but with minor tweaks, or completely revamped. Each succeeding iteration of sidekicks has a new and more advanced OS and the ENV2 also got a complete overhaul in the OS department. Now while the ocean may not even be a third as popular as those devices, I still hope Helio had the prudence to put a new, quicker, more open OS on there.Originally Posted by Gcode247

Hate to say it, but word I'm getting is Oz 2 isn't going to be all that much to cheer about if you're a hardcore Helio follower. Oz 3 is "beautiful" but a long ways off ... but O2 isn't all that much of a redesign. Definitely no touch screen.
I hope I'm wrong (!) But the tip came from someone who's pretty knowledgeable and trustworthy

anything has to be better then the first ocean. i wont to just throw this thing
i here talk of the ocean 2 running windows mobile can anyone comfirm this. and i know know one knows anything about the device right now so im not saying comfirm it now but please comfirm it one day
...GOD THIS IS KILLING ME! Okay I'm gonna do it anyways! I've seen a shot of the o2, it IS thinner and so far, the screen is electrostatic like the buttons on the mysto. Also like the mysto, it is gonna have tell me...BIG WHOOP! lol, it is pretty sweet looking too, and all the bugs from the o1 are fixed on the o2. I don't know if it's gonna be customizable like stated in my guidelines above, didn't get to check the camera...but I've got one of those gut feelings that we'll ALL finally be satisfied!
