    Experiences with Dash extended batteries

I currently have 2 standard capacity batteries and it just doesn't cut it for me anymore. I want to step up to a bigger battery with a replacement cover. I haven't been able to find much comparison between the mogul 2400 beast and the HTC 1550mah. Is there any information out there?

I use a generic 2200mah battery from ebay. It came with a replacement battery cover that has the same rubberized texture.

I am a fairly heavy user, and it lasts an honest 4 days. With the stock battery I was barely getting 28hrs out of it.

These batteries are less than a 1/3 of the cost of the well known batteries.
Search on ebay for "2200mah s620 battery" you will see many listings.

This almost sounds too good to be true, if its really anything near 2200 mah battery for the price they are selling it for. I go through the stock battery in a matter of a few hours at work, where I am literally constantly using the phone for something. Anyone else use this 2200mah battery?

I recently purchased a 1550mAh battery from Amazon.com and I am pleased with the performance. During the course of an average day, I listen to music for 1-2 hours with a stereo bluetooth headset (major battery hog), have all my email pushed to my phone, send approximately 150 texts, play bubble breaker and browse the internet for maybe 30 minutes. My battery has been lasting a full 2 days. I used to have to charge the original battery twice a day.

Im gonna give the 2200mah battery a shot, due to the price. I need a replacement badly, I kill my oem battery in 2.5 hours of heavy use while at work. I need a new battery cover as well, since I accidentally sat on mine and broke one of the tabs that holds the upper portion down. I figure Ill try to kill 2 birds with 1 stone here, Ill let everyone know how it goes.

Here are some pictures for a size reference. I actually like the added size because it feels good in your hand. The only drawback I experienced is the phone no longer fits in my desktop cradle. The benefits outweigh this though.

I also bought one myself and I must say I'm really impressed. I always wanted an extended battery but the price was too expensive set at $80. I did a simple ebay search and I can't believe I found it for about $27US shipped. I sent a payment on Thursday night and I had a e-mail by them the following afternoon saying the item was shipped. I figure it'll take at least a week because it's shipped from HK. It came the following Tuesday! I charged it for 24hrs and when I finally used it, it was great! My first test for the battery lasted a little over 7.5hrs and this is amazing because I turned on the Wifi w/ IM+ and NewsBreak to autoupdate every 30minutes. I used my bluetooth A2DP(using Itech R35) to listen to a movie through CorePlayer and I set it on repeat. While all this was happening, I did not set the Dash to dim the light nor was the screen every shut off. It was up and running at 276mhz using TPC/OMap. Under those kind of conditions, it lasted 7.5hrs and I was really impressed since it's only the first charge (it'll get better). I knew I can finally use my Dash the way I use it. With the standard battery, I could not even listen to 4 hours of music on the subway with the handsfree headset that came with it before the battery was completely drain and powers off by itself. With my Itech R35, it was no more than 2.5hours! The dim settings and underclock to 180mhz was in effect. I couldn't even make a call by the time my commute was done. I've had it for a week now and I think it's well worth the money for power users. The battery case does stick out but I actually like it. It makes your dash thicker but I like the grip even more now. It's about two standard 950mAh in thickness and the case is rubber but the black coloring is a bit off and doesn't quite match to the original casing of the dash. I do a lot of e-mailing, internet surfing, some gaming, but ALOT of music/videos. I actually don't use my phone for calling much but I would say about 45minutes a day in total. This is simply because I'm on my aim through IM+ and I get push e-mails so I respond quickly usually. So for the past few days, I would say that during my 7hours from school until I get home, I had at least 60% left with the heavy usage. Overall, this battery is worth it! I was about to cave in to get two extra spare OEM batteries because of the price for the 2400mAh but I'm glad I did a search on eBay.

When you order the 2200mah s620 battery do you get the cover for it along with the battery or is this a separate order? I'm looking forward to use this with my Dash, I use the internet a lot and the regular battery is not cutting it for me anymore.

I bought a stock, non-OEM replacement battery off of eBay for about $8 shipped. I was skeptical that it wasn't a rip-off in some way but it solved random power-offs and very short battery life on my 14 month old original battery. I didn't upsize the battery since I'll be upgrading as soon as T-Mobile offers 3G and a decent phone or two and didn't want to spend a bunch of money on the Dash at this point.

Thanks, and yes I had read your post but I wanted to make sure it was usual to receive the cover along with the battery, I ordered it off ebay last night from some vendor in Hong Kong, I'll be paying $26.25 USD plus shipping, I hope it works good and that I receive it with no problem, fingers crosssed.

I have been down that road already. I have 2 original sized batteries that cannot get me through the day at work and swapping and trying to charge 3 is a real pita to do on a daily basis. I keep hoping tmobile will offer the kaiser or something similar and rollout 3g.

Well finally got my battery, it took 3 weeks to get to the US. got it last Monday, its performance is great! I have been playing on my Dash for hours today with both MSN and another instant messenger on all the time, besides checking my mail on 3 different pop3 accounts every 15 minutes, that along with lots of web browsing, at 5:00PM today the battery was still at %89, that's fantastic if you ask me.

But here's the big BUT, I do have one major complaint, the Battery cover is horrible & stays loose all the time and it doenst snap in properly, it almost looks as if this cover was not really made for this phone. any ideas where I can buy a decent cover for the T-Mobile Dash with an extended battery?

My cover fit just as well the an OEM cover, maybe your is a little off?

As this 2200mah battery is unique I doubt you are going to find another replacement (short of buying another battery)

Most of the extended covers I have seen (very few) are for the mugen 2400mah battery. I do not know if it is larger, but I would assume so.

Whyy not use a little adhesive to slightly thicken up the attachment points. It should make the cover seat better.

I also bought the $27 (total) battery from Hong Kong. Took 4 weeks to get here (Miami). So far, so good. I'm just glad my Dash no longer shuts off in the middle of an operation. No problem with the battery cover.
