iPhone and family plan with unlimited family text messaging

Hey,
Can you use the unlimited text messaging plan for families on a family plan with an iphone? I would be paying to add the iphone to an existing plan.

Not positive I believe the iPhone stands along and does not have the same text plans as "normal phones" I pay $20 for the iPhone unlimited data and 200 txts. My guess is you have to spend money.

I'm actually fighting them over a $190 bill they just posted to my online account. Leave it to AT&T to screw you in the butt.

See I do not understand that, a text message is a text message. It is not like the iphone sends text messages some special way

yes the family unlimited will work. it will show your iphone as having 200, but i use over a 1k a month without any overages.

Same here. 700 min shared family plan with unlimited texting, added 2 iPhones on with the $20/200 text iPhone plan, kept unlimited texting, and I blew up 2145 texts last billing cycle.

yea the 200 msgs on the iphone plan are there to lure you into getting another plan......we have family unltmtd and it has never affected overages or anything

The AT&T rep that sold me the iPhone told me that they started something new now, if you use up your 200 text messages you can dip into the family text plan.

This is interesting news. Glad I found this out here. Now I just need to see what the cheapest unlimited minutes is. haha

If your iPhone is Jailbroken, just use the $15 media.net plan and add the unlimited text family plan.

Same here, we have 1 iphone($20 data) on a 5 line family plan. We added unlimited family messaging & the iphone receives unlimited sms.

My brother and I were on a plan with 2 iphones and 2 of the $40 iphone unlimited text packages. Last month At&t went ahead and lowered both of our iphone plans to the $20 and gave us unlimited family texting saving us $10 a month without us even asking, just noticed it on the bill. I've never heard of a At&t wanting to save its customers money before so that was interesting.
