Alritey thanks, one more question....Say i do the hup instore instead of through the phone, can the registered authorized user do it? And can they do it even if I have a retentions plan?
(Sorry for sort of hijacking....I didn't want to create a new thread. As soon as I get an answer I'll delete this post)
Yes authorized users can perform upgrades on the account (not activations).
Sometimes you can get a better deal by talking with retentions or relations,
and having the phone shipped directly to you or ask to pick it up at a store.
Just be aware that if you're on a family plan it also renews the primary line,
and the discounts are applied to the first phone upgraded (revenue resets...)
therefore you have to wait to accumulate discounts again for the 2nd phone.
Just wondering if anyone can give me info, will the N95 be available for HUP as soon as it's released then? Or will I have to wait a little bit? Thanks
It may not be available immediately at the stores to upgrade online. They
might have to call it in, and do a manual contract therefore taking longer.
However usually stores have new phones before customer service does...
hey does anyone know if there getting rid of the $15 BB e-mail option. I know you can use opera mini and get free internet, but as of May 6th will the be gone?
I'm going to change my $20 communicate plan for the 15 one and add that 15 data plan as the free internet.
do you think that is a good idea?
Just wanted to re-iterate his question
I'm on month to month with this plan, should I get it on a contract?
My biggest pet peeve with Rogers is they do not thing people buy the Q9h for personal use. A smart phone does much more than a normal phone which is why I bought it. THERE IS NO WAY MY COMPANY WOULD PAY FOR IT !!!!
Rogers Vision Unlimited On-Device Mobile Browsing Plan, includes unlimited on-device mobile browsing using the Rogers Mobile Internet Browser only and is only available on select Rogers certified devices (PDAs such as Blackberry® or Windows Mobile devices, PC cards and non-Rogers certified devices are not eligible). Starting May 13th, data usage incurred on ineligible devices or while tethering (use of device as wireless modem) or while using applications is subject to pay-per-use charges of $15/MB for the first 5MB, $10/MB for next 5MB, $5/MB for next 10MB and $0.50/MB thereafter. Certain Rogers approved applications are included in the plan (no additional pay-per use charges). 36-month term commitment required for Rogers Vision bonus eligibility.
I noticed they still have the 33% discount on value packs. Wasn't that supposed to be gone?
The $100/1GB option is not out yet. And when it does get released it may take a while to actually appear on the site.

Wow once again this is disappointing. I'll keep my money rogers will have to do better he they want anymore of my cash.
Data is data regardless of the device. Rant
Hey guys I searched but couldn't find the answer to this so if I missed it please forgive me....
I see that rogers has the new value packs up. I'm currently on the $11 one with 125 sent texts but now there's the new one for $15 with 2500 sent texts and a bunch of other bells and whistles. It says "$15 (smartphone)" though. Is rogers going to restrict this value pack to certain phones only? I don't really care about data or anything, all I need is call display, voice mail and 2500 texts. I'm using an iphone (if that matters). Will they still allow me to add this value pack even though I don't have a roger's branded smartphone??

Thanks in advance.
It can be used on any phone. It simply has no browsing option on it so it won't conflict with a real data plan (IE: smartphones).
i.Fido..... Well, what a shock May 6 and still the Windows Mobile Data plans have not changed.
It does clearly say on Page 1 effective May 6 confirmed. That a Window Mobile 1 Gig for $100 tier will be released.
I got stung twice first the whole 100% revamp of the Windows mobile Plans and then the new 1Gig for $100 rumor; anything anybody says here is 100% rumor and I am really tired of reading about changes in Windows Mobile plans and seeing nothing.
To all so called Rogers insiders please do not post anything you hear about Windows Mobile Plans, because anything you hear clearly does not mean much.
Really I do care less about value packs all I need is phone to answer calls and a good data plan but I am happy for everybody that want to give Rogers money each and every month for these "value packs".

Have you called in an actual Rogers store or customer service yet to see if they indeed haven't released it yet? Its a well known fact that the Rogers website is poorly maintained and that just might be happening with these plans.....
