    Ohhhh k.
I'm feeling like I could potentially get yelled at for my question... Please bare with me, as I'm trying to wrap my brain around all of this...

On my phone.. which IS a Rogers phone at the moment. I want to be able to use my email. Now, this new $20 package has unlimited browsing, and unlimited MobileMail available, does that mean I can go on whichever web sites my phone can handle? And what specifically works for the MobileMail? Or can I set up the email client that my phone has and use just that and not be charged anything extra?

I'm really having a tough time finding the right answer. I would love to get a non-Rogers phone, The Xperia, this year, these plans, because of the IMEI tracking (?) won't work on non-Rogers devices, correct? Or you can take your chances, or can you go into a data plan with non-Rogers phones, (providing they become better prices, but I won't attack that bag of bones yet).

Please, please, please, someone be nice and answer the question... THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!

    Oh geez...the answer once again:

Yes you can surf to any site the phone can handle.

The MobileMail is the built-in ROGERS BRANDED email application (even says "Rogers" when you launch it, or says "Fido" on Fido). It's in the menu with the 3G/vision services next to MobileTV and Video. If your phone isn't one of the ones that has it, download it. It should be in your catalog from the Rogers zone. Usage of any other email applications is NOT included.

The MobileMail is not too bad but it's limited to certain domains. Check Rogers.com or Fido.ca for details. All the US carriers are now using it on regular phones as well.
    Line 1: (Mobilicity) BTS 25 on PAC - Unlimited local talk/text/data @ $23/month
    Line 2: (Wind) Irresistible35 - Unlimited everything @ $35/month
Line 3: (Wind) Holiday Miracle - Unlimited everything @ $40/month
Line 4: (Fido) Retention - Unlimited North America talk & text @ $50/month
Line 5: (Wind) All in the Family Laptop - Unlimited data @ $15/month

partyfavor: Do you realize how many people get alerts on their blackberry/wm devices, etc, whenever a reply is posted to this thread? Please don't post stupid/sarcastic comments like that. We all know the answer... And yes, I know you're joking around.

Yup. Another useless question, and yes, this time you CAN yell at me, I give full permission.

(I figured that I may as well add it to my other ignorant post.)

I have a w580i, and I LOVE my phone, but I'd like to utilize it more. I've read numerous posts, to the point where my head is spinning, but I can't seem to find a concrete answer, just one after another that contradict themselves.

The new $20 package that has the unlimited browsing is what I'm really interested in, but I have a few qualms I'd like to have sorted out:
--I've read in many places that the unlimited browsing lets you use any preinstalled applications on the phone
--If this is true, can I use the email client, (IMAP I believe), that is on my phone to accept emails from accounts other then the three that the MobileMail accepts?

YES, I already feel bad typing this, let's pass on the stupid comments and please, please, just clarify this, I've almost been in tears a few times trying to figure this out.

What would classify as using "data" and what would you get charged for?

AND, one last thing that I thought of... Could you have the Unlimited Browsing, and BLOCK data!?! I'm not sure what's possible... Wouldn't it be nice to have someone who works for the call center clearing this up.

THANKS EVERYONE IN ADVANCE!!!!!! I do greatly appreciate this!

Are they HIGH!??!?!?!? $190 for 100 minutes?
    Well that's an unfair comparison.

To be fair you'd have to compare local PayGo with Finland's local PayGo.

What you're doing is comparing Rogers' $190 international monthly roaming plan with Finland's local PayGo.

Go to one of Finland's carriers and see how much they charge for international roaming, then come back here and tell us how high Rogers is.

My bet is it is not even close. It probably is muchh cheaper. Canada is third world country of cellular pricing and devices.

    Yes.

    Totally different. Email/data. Call features/essentials.
If its not a smart phone, its a dumb phone.

So, what exactly is On Device Mobile Browsing? Also, why are they tagging that as a BB/WM plan with the only addition being more MMS?

Because BB/WM plans were unable to add the $20 Value Pack (with some exceptions) because of the data plan conflict. So they have come out with a BB/WM version of the $20 Value Pack, and priced it at $15 because it excludes on device WAP browsing.

Previously, the only option was to get the $11 Every Call Value Pack and add on 2500 TXTS for $6.67 ($10 less 33% discount). You'd still be paying $17.67 and not getting any MMS. I think this is a great Value Pack!
