I'm guessing we'd need to donate a device.

Well, there cheap enough. I got mine off eBay for $88 shipping included.
Unfortunately, it's my only phone right now!
Honestly, I'm thinking about bailing from cricket.
This 150kbps cap is killing me.

I Did It!!!! Got MMS Working!!!!

I got a Verizon 5800 a week ago and I got mms working on it a few days ago. Ive just been to lazy to post. Anyways thanks goes out to: beezlewaxin for posting how to app unlock the phone, to0 for telling me about the smartphone task manager over at trianglepowers that allowed me to kill the process of HTC_CM_Guardian from running on its own thus allowing me to delete it, krjavi for giving me some suggestions and providing me with some useful info and last but not least everyone that helped get the 6700 cracked as that is where I got all my reg edits from.

All this is straight off the top of my dome but Im pretty sure I got it down. Keep in mind that this is for a Verizon 5800. Dont know if all these steps are necessary but my phone was actin like a punk and didnt want to co-operate so this is exacktly how I did it. The first thing I did was perform a hard reset since I kept getting a d**n login error everytime I was to receive or send a picture message. To hard reset, you hold down the two soft keys while powering the phone on. This will wipe out everything. All your nam programming, even the prl changes back to a verizon one.

After that I just dialed *22807 to program the nam and whatnot. I didnt follow the Q tut to get web YET!!! I did that at a later time. After the phone was programmed, I followed beezles tut to app unlock the phone. I tried deleting the CM_Guardian from the Windows/Startup folder at this point but was unsuccessful. I guess a few people have had success at about this point to delete that file but like I said this phone was being a pain so it didnt work for me. It turns out CM_Guardian was up and running by itself so I had to kill that process. To successfully delete it, I had to head over to trianglepowers and download the smartphone task manager and install it on the phone. Once installed, run the program and look for the task HTC_CM_Guardian. Highlight it, hit options and kill the process. Once you do that go back now and delete it from the Startup folder.

Once I deleted the CM_Guardian, now is when I followed the Q tut to get web on the phone. With my web working, I installed dcd VZW Arcsoft MMS 5.0.31.19.cab on the phone thanks to krjavi. I however couldnt get it done with this version but it might help to get it done on the Qwest versions thats why Im throwing it out there. Using the stock version of arcsoft on the Verizon 5800 and using Total Commander to do a few reg edits, this is what I did:

    Go to HKLM\Software\ArcSoft\Arcsoft MMS UA\Config\UI
change the key, EnableServerEdit, from 0 to 1

With that done go to Messaging, higlight MMS and hit menu. Select settings, hit menu again and select MMSC Settings. Again hit menu and select new. Here you will create a new server setting for your mms.

    This is what I have:

    Server name: Cricket MMS
    Gateway: LEAVE BLANK!!!
    Port Number: 8080
    Server address: http://mms.mycricket.com/servlets/mms
    Connect Via: Cricket WAP connection
    Sending size limitation: LEAVE ALONE!!
    WAP: WAP 2.0

With all that out the way, go back up until the point where you were asked to create new mmsc settings and this time higlight your new cricket mms settings but this time instead of selecting new, select set as default to set these new settings to be your default settings.

Now all thats left is to do a few more reg edits:

    Go to HKLM\Software\ArcSoft\Arcsoft MMS UA\Config\mm1\WspHearder

In here delete everything but Accept, Accept-Language and User-Agent. This is what I have for those settings:

    Accept: application/vnd.wap.multipart.related
    Accept-Language: en
    User-Agent: utstar58kv1

After you set those to look like what I have here, go to Add value and add a string called X-Cricket-MDN and set the value to be your 10 digit phone number. On mine, the X-VzW-MDN string comes up by itself every so often but it doesnt seem to affect anything so I just quit deleting it. It might be because the value for it is 1-then my 10 digit number. So if you are having trouble because the X-VzW-MDN keeps popping up you can either try changing the value to be a 1 infront of the 10 digit number for it. If not then just keep deleting it.

One last reg edit that has to be done in order to receive picture messages and has been talked about numerous times is the deletion of the DefaulConnectionSettings. Im pretty sure everyone knows how to do that so Im not going to give a how to on it and where in the registry to look. If you dont know, then yo a*s better call somebody.

There it is and HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all!!!!

    Okay, I got it.
It was the WAP Gateway field that threw me.
Mine actually had the address "0.0.0.0." as a kind of "fill in the blanks" setting.
After I actually deleted ALL NUMBERS (the field was now truly blank) everything works great.
    Hats off to jramos402!

    TrianglePowers Task Manager

Hey I registered at Triangle Powers to download the Task Manager, and every time I get "Error: Requested content 'www.trianglepowers.com/ppc/TaskManager.CAB' cannot be processed due to error while parsing request."

Could someone host it here or elsewhere or email it to me (PM me)? Thanks
