Sprint Forum Rules - Read Before Posting

THE ADMINISTRATORS AND MODERATORS OF HOWARDFORUMS.COM RESERVE THE RIGHT TO MOVE, REMOVE, EDIT, CLOSE POSTS OR BAN MEMBERS (HAVE POSTING PRIVILEGES REVOKED) WHO BREACH THESE RULES OR TERMS OF USE AT OUR SOLE DISCRETION, AND WITH OR WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING OR EXPLANATION.

RULES

POST ONLY IN ENGLISH - While we do not have a problem with other languages, please only post in English since a majority of people on the forum primarily speak English. This rule also covers the excessive use slang, lingo, and/or abbreviations.

RANT FORUM - Keep ALL complaints about Sprint in the designated forum. Anyone who posts in the Rant forum is expected to currently be a Sprint customer. This is to reduce the flaming and trolling.

Cross/Double/Correct forum posting - Please post to the MOST relevant forum. Double or cross forum posting will be removed. If you post to the incorrect forum your thread/posting will likely be moved by a moderator to the correct forum. A temporary redirect of that moved thread will usually be left for 24 hours.

ESN's/MEID's/IMEI's/SIM's - Please don't ever post one of these numbers in the forum. If you do this, the post will be edited or deleted.

FLAMING/TROLLING - Any content that is unlawful, harmful, harassing, threatening, defamatory, vulgar, hateful or distasteful in nature is prohibited. If someone flames you, take the high road and report it to a Moderator and it will be dealt with accordingly. If you flame back, then both parties will be subject to disciplinary action. Flaming is not tolerated, even in self-defense. Such things detract from civil discussion (this includes name calling). Trolling may also includes useless or unnecessary remarks that add no value to a thread and/or have the potential to create flaming.

If you disagree with another member, respond to the subject, not the person. The Internet has made it easy to make personal attacks but you must still exercise courtesy and self-restraint here. Please use the PM (Private Messaging) system to resolve personal issues.

Threats against members, Moderators or Administrators will not be tolerated.

Racial, ethnic and religious slurs are zero tolerance items and warrant more severe punishment.

THREAD CRAPPING - This is when a member comes into a thread and posts something contrary to the spirit/intent of the thread, in an attempt to purposely derail the discussion or turn it into an argument. This is not allowed either.

While we appreciate other points of view, the excessive posting of nothing but negative and/or troublesome comments is not conducive to good order and detracts from the enjoyment of this forum.

PROFANITY/VULGARITIES - This site employs a profanity filter. Please use appropriate language. If you have to substitute letters with numbers or symbols to get the word past the filter then you aren't allowed to use it.

OFF TOPIC DISCUSSIONS - If discussions/posts get too far off-topic, threads may be closed.

SIGNATURE SIZE - Signatures should not be bigger than 500 pixels in height and 600 pixels in width. You will be warned if your signature is too large. If it is not changed within a reasonable amount of time, it will be removed and disciplinary action taken.

SPAMMING/ADVERTISING - Any form of advertising or soliciting members or commercial website linking (excluding signatures of current HowardForum advertisers) whether publicly posted (including signatures) or sent privately (including email or PM) is strictly prohibited.

If you are the owner of or are affiliated with a commercial website or a physical store, don't mention it in your posts or put a link or URL or mention it in your signature. This also includes putting the URL in your avatar and/or user status phrase. This also includes having a .com/org/net/info etc. user name that advertises a for-profit website. If you have a user name like that, it will be banned and you'll have to choose a different user name.

This also includes, but is not limited to advertising with the intent to 'help people', or to provide 'free' products or services (e.g. 'free unlocking' posts), or links containing a referral or affiliate ID. The forums are costly and time consuming to run so spam hurts our ability to fund the forums.

Links to your eBay auctions are prohibited, these will be deleted. A link in your signature to your eBay feedback is okay. Offering or requesting services for compensation is prohibited.

If you are a dealer, do not advertise. You are considered a dealer if you are selling more than five (5) pieces of the same product, be it clothing, computer related items, car parts/accessories, etc. For cell phones, you are allowed to sell two (2) brand new ones or five (5) used phones within a 30-day period. A dealer is anyone who buys to sell. If you have access to products and sell them in volume, you are defined as a dealer.

No selling of goods on behalf of other people. If they can't sell it themselves that's their own problem, don't make it yours.

B/S/T - There is a specific Buy, Sell and Trade forum on the main board. DO NOT post a phone or accessory for sale in the Sprint forum. This also includes any type of for sale sites as well as auction sites. Any solicitation to try to get someone to take over your cell plan also belongs in this forum.

MODERATOR CRITIQUE - Moderator actions are not up for public debate. Threads/posts that are critical of Moderators will be removed. Do not post threads asking why your thread was removed. If you have a grievance with a Moderator, send that Moderator a Private Message to address your concerns and to resolve the situation. We try to stay out of things unless it warrants us stepping in. We prefer the forum to be YOURS, not OURS as long as it is kept civil.

LASTLY, IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO KNOW THE RULES AND FOLLOW THEM. A BAN IS ONLY THE RESULT OF YOUR ACTIONS.
