If it's multi-touch then it's almost certainly a capacitive touchscreen. The only multi-touch resistive touchscreen I've seen was on a cheap no-name tablet and that didn't work very well.
Usually capacitive touchscreens have hard surfaces while resistive ones have soft ones (i think?). Though my camera has a hard screen but I think it's resistive...

The Sony Cyber-shots have hard screens and they have resistive touchscreens.
Usually the softness comes from the flexible membrane placed on top of the screen itself for 'touching' ability, but technology seems to have furthered slightly now
