That surprises me juice considering it doesn't have a d-pad.
Optical joystick, no stylus, proprietary connector, and major size difference of the Omnia still keep the Diamond as the major front runner for me.
Yeah the lack of dpad does suck. But I've been adopting the mantra "if you can't beat em', join em'". The screen on the Omnia is hypnotizing. Even if it is only 400x240. Those 80 extra pixels go a long way. But a NA Diamond with a rubberized back is VERY tempting.
heres another pic taken by the diamond to hold you guys over till the NA version is released

I tore down the nest right after the pic was taken.
Wow, fantastic! Thanks for posting!
I assume you took the lens cover off for that photo. Can you please post instructions for how to do that? -- And maybe an external photo of what the camera looks like without the lens? I'm concerned that the lens will go unprotected for the sake of better photos...

That photo is almost unbelievable... I believe my Touch doesn't have the lens cover cover. I say cover cover because there is already a cover from the OEM of the camera but HTC put's another cover on no? I'm trying to pop the one out from my Kaiser but it's one big piece that contains the speaker grill of which I still want. So why HTC thought it was ok for the Touch not have an additional cover but the Kaiser and all other phones need it is a mystery? Maybe the OEM lens cover isn't a "cover" like it is on the Touch. The camera's are different after all. Hmmmm. This is interesting.

Ive fiddled with mine. The black window does come out separately from the speaker grill (its glued in pretty right), but I dont want to pop it out until I have figured out a way to stop dust from getting into the phone. Does anybody have any ideas how to make a lens cover that wont make my Kaiser look like rubbish?
One think I can confirm, the difference between having it on and off is breathtaking.
No prizes for guessing which one was taken with the cover on.

Surur
Yep. I think it's because the OEM cover is glass(?) or a very hard quality plastic and the cover that is in the HTC back/battery cover is a cheap scratch prone plastic that adds a layer of haze.

From all indications thus far, 850 support can NOT be added via a registry edit or a new ROM or other software tweak. The currently available Diamonds are (supposedly) missing the hardware to support 850. So, if you really need 850, current Diamonds aren't for you.
i thought the hardware itself could maybe hacked to do 850 =S....
any super techies here to enlighten me how its locked to 900 and the work that would be needed to changing it?
