Why do employees always get availibility of phones after the public (sometimes months)? Is there anyway to get around dealing with Employee accounts to order equipment. I know ebay etc... I want to get a BB curve but I am assuming it will be a few weeks until that is possible.

The number one goal of the company is to grow business profitably. They will do this if they can get those new devices in the hands of consumers first and foremost.Originally Posted by ler224
I purchased mine today and will receive it tomorrow, I paid full price for it and submitted the ESN change via MYAcct no problems. I just had to have a friend of mind let me call in on their acct to pay full price, doesnt mess up their upgrade since full price and nothing gets changed since I didnt act it on their acct. what are they going to do if he doesnt act it on his acct charge full price? Wait I already paid that....
Its not that I dont agree with this... but Happy workers, work harder. We always feel like 2nd class citizens when we cant have the latest and greatest. How hard is it to promote a piece of equipment or sound excited about a Curve when the customer calls in if all you're thinking about is "Lucky SOB.... I've been waiting for that phone for EVER". Which is why we circumvent the system anyway. Did it with the Env, Voyager and now the curve. Granted I've paid over $1300 in full retail phones but again how does that hurt Verizon's bottom line?Originally Posted by sodomojo
I think VZW gives us enough benefits and perks that we don't have to be first in line for a discounted phone. Most people recognize the fact that consumers need it first and consumers pay more for their service than employees and consumers are the ones that are ultimately paying our paychecks and mbos, and sti's, and lti's.Originally Posted by VZWShane
Whether it is discounted or not, it is not even available to us. It seems like a few months after a new product is released employee accounts catches on.Originally Posted by sodomojo
To say that there is not enough stock is b/s for the most part. The voyager was only available a few weeks ago, and it was out before the holidays.
Also always being two weeks behind on orders is lazy as well. So even if you order the equipment it wont even be processed for two weeks.
And our customers do not pay any more for our paychecks than we do for theirs anyway.
You're right, customers ARPU is much lower than our ARPU on our employee lines. We get this great discount on employee lines, but we pay more, right?Originally Posted by ler224

That explains why there are phones in stock & are not available to employees.Originally Posted by sodomojo
u want a way around it? dont put ur account under the employee phone program.

Thats because they want customers to have them. What would you prefer, to have your pretty little phone in your hand, and have the customer sign up with ATT because we don't have the phone in stock, or for us to have to have waiting period, so the initial demand can be fulfilled, and the customers can have the phones?Originally Posted by ler224
Customers would go with ATT months ago since they get most of their phones before us anyway. So I do not feel that is such a good argument
I could understand wanting the customers to have them first, but on most phones (excluding voyager) they had a stockpile and still waited 2-3 months to release it to the employees...Originally Posted by sodomojo
I don't understand what you are trying to say. ATT gets most of their phones first? What are you saying?Originally Posted by ler224
