    tzones proxy problem. HELP PLEASE

so for about a week now i couldnt get on the web using my phone. i have the 5.99 tzones plan and i used these directions to get on the internet which worked flawlessly for the first couple weeks of owning my wing:

    T-Zones Internet Settings:
    1. Open up your keyboard and get out your stylus because it will make it easier
    2. Start menu --> Settings
    3. Go to 'Connections' tab
    4. Then click on Connections app
    5. Select 'Set up my proxy server'
    6. Select the 'General' tab
    7. On the general tab, name it "WAP" (or anything, really, that's just what I used) -- if you haven't messed with this before, it will say "My Work Network"
    8. Select the 'Modem' tab
    9. Click on New...
    10. Name the connection "Tzones" (again, that's what I used)
    11. Under modem, select 'Cellular Line (GPRS)'
    12. Click Next
    13. Under access point name, type "wap.voicestream.com"
    14. Click Next
    15. Leave "User name", "Password", and "Domain" blank (not a space, but blank)
    16. Click on Advanced...
    17. On the 'TCP/IP' tab, ensure "Use server-assigned IP address" is checked and that nothing else is checked or filled-in
    18. On the 'Servers' tab, ensure "Use server-assigned addresses" is checked and that nothing else is checked or filled-in
    19. Click "ok" in the top right corner (or press the OK button next to your space bar)
    20. Click Finish
    21. Select the 'VPN' tab and make sure there is nothing here
    22. Select the 'Proxy Settings' tab
    23. Check the box "This network connects to the Internet"
    24. Then you can check the box that says "This network uses a proxy server to connect to the Internet"
    25. Then type into the Proxy server box: 216.155.165.50:8080
    26. Click on Advanced...
    27. Click on "HTTP"
    28. The server should read 216.155.165.50
    29. Change the port number to 8080
    30. Leave "User name", "Password", and "Domain" blank (not a space, but blank)
    31. Click "ok" in the top right corner (or press the OK button next to your space bar)
    32. And do the "ok" thing again
    33. And "ok" one more time
    34. Notice 1: at the top of the screen, it should say "WAP" (or whatever name you chose in step 7)
    35. Notice 2: where before it said 'Set up my proxy server' now it should read 'Edit my proxy server' -- just FYI, don't touch
    36. Click on the 'Advanced' tab
    37. Click on "Select Networks"
    38. Under both drop-down boxes, choose "WAP" (or the name you chose in step 7) -- I'm not sure the 2nd one needs to be the same, but what the heck, it worked for me; feel free to experiment
    39. Click "ok" in the top right corner (or press the OK button next to your space bar)
    40. And do the "ok" thing again
    41. Push the "e" on your MDA to launch Internet Explorer
    42. Make sure you're not connected via the USB cable
    43. Go to "Favorites" and choose one of the sites listed there and see if it works
    44. If it works, congratulations! Stop here.
    45. If it doesn't work, go back to step 1 or ask for help (but I'm no expert, so I think I'll leave it to others to help you)

anyways after a week i was fed up of not checking my email while im at work that i did a hard reset and tried the above settings again. before the hard reset i would get some weird error saying "$CODE$". now that i did the hard reset and tried the above settings again, EVERY PAGE i got to i get a pop up box saying "this page cannot be found. check the name and try again". this happens on every page i try to visit. my tzones is working fine. can anyone help me with this problem? ive missed a couple deals online cause i cant check my email at work with my phone anymore. its really frustrating.

If it's not working for you with the same settings, then TM has closed the proxy loophole for you. Nothing you can do about that.

Shouldn't you be able to afford the extra $14 a month for total internet with all the money you will be saving from all the deals you will be notified about thanks to working internet?

    Lets fix this thang

Ok, check this out...Make sure in the IE Connections Settings you have the box checked in the automatically detect settings. The "Select Network" should be set to WAP Network. Next step>>>Goto the connections settings and choose "GPRS" > open up the T-Mobile Data and make it connect to the WAP Network. Thats it.. good luck

    Same topic- new question

After several attempts, I finally got the proxy to work. However when I try to access an e-mail account (att.net) I can't get the info to click through- no clickable link appears (like a Submit) and when I press the Enter key on my Wing nothing happens. Any ideas as to what the problem is?

Also where can I find the factory default settings for restoring the T-zones without having to do a hard reset and losing contacts? Not going to implement but would like to know.
    Thanks all.

What's the web page you're using to log-in to AT&T? The link I find isn't a secure page and has no detectable click throughs.

When I go to Menu->Tools->Options, the only tabs I have are General, Memory and Security.

Where can I get to the Connection Settings?

    THanks!

You won't see those settings unless you have a winmo phone.
