Has anyone been successful with this mission in the past?

No offense but I doubt you will find anyone who has been successful. Why would any company give a new activation a loyalty, aka retention plan?? You have no loyalty to them and there is nothing to retain. Those plans are there to keep the good revenue generating customers that have been with them for 2-3 contacts that might decide to migrate to another carrier.

This method has been proven to work over @ Telus, w/ a few HoFo users. They have other services within Telus and called their loyalty, aka retention dept for a new activation w/ a negotiated plan.

Hmmm, I wonder how Bell would react to it...

I did try talking to Bell retentions about upgrading a prepaid account to postpaid, no go...

(FWIW, I've never managed to get anywhere with Rogers retentions trying to get their home phone. No deals on new activations they say, despite having their cable/Internet.)

When was your attempt w/ your new activation w/ Rogers retention?

My friend spoke to Rogers retention for their home phone activation package; got a deal with them with the same reason, but this was about 2 years ago and before the tight lockdown of customer's cost for buliding the LTE network, the Leafs and Blue Jays.

Hmmm... this would have been over 2 years ago the first time, I think?

'Tight lockdown of customer costs'? I managed to get my parents 20% off their cable last fall just by asking nicely, without even having a competitor I could point to. Maybe they're not as generous as they used to be, but some reps can still do things...

(Now, to get back on topic... if only Bell had 6GB plans these days...)

    Fab 10-$60 + 6gb + caller id for $66+tax.

but I'm also with Wind and I can't believe I have to negotiate 200 anytime minutes

    Hi everybody,

Here is what I was able to get from retentions a few months ago:

200 minutes + 100 minutes bonus of daytime talktime
    Unlimited txt/picture/video messages
    Top 10 Nationwide
    100 MB of data
    Conference call, Call waiting
    Caller ID
    Voicemail 10

    32.40$/month

I actually really like my plan, but my contract is up in a few weeks and I want to renegotiate to get more data, although I don't want it to cost more than 50$/month.

Do you guys know of any existing plans on the market or do you have any pointers to help me achieve this?

    Thanks!

Hey guys, talked to bell yesterday and this is what hey offered:

    150 daytime mins
    Unlimited eve/wkd
    Unlimited messaging
    6gb data
    VM, CID
    $ 59 + tax = $66.67

Any opinions? I was hoping to get it under $60 tax in, but every rep said they can't apply credits as of May 24th. I find that hard to believe.

Hi guys, so I need help on how I should approach what I want
Right now, my mom and I have separate plans

    Hers (Uber 30)
    -----
    200 anytime local minutes
    50 Bonus minutes
    Unlimited nights and weekends (9 p.m. - 7 a.m.)
Conference Calling, Call Forwarding and Call Waiting

Mine (Student 55 Fab 10 & Txt BB)
    -----
    200 anytime local minutes
    National Fab 10 - Text & Talk
    Text Messaging - Unlimited Package
    Unlimited Picture and Video Messaging
    1gb data
    + $8 Caller ID

My mom's plan is now over, but I have 1.5years left.
What I want is the new Samsung Galaxy S3 with basic minutes, text, data, and caller ID ( a similar plan to my current one )
while she wants a cheap plan, preferably ~30, with caller ID..

How should I go about doing this? Maybe I can take over her line, and try and get a good plan with retentions and S3? I would like to keep my number though..

Ok, so called back a couple times today and this is what they offered, and this is what I'm going with:

    200 daytime minutes
unlimited evening & weekends starting at 6pm
    unlimited messaging
    VM, CID
    6GB data
$57 before taxes (minus $4 bundle discount, comes to $59.89 after tax)

Wow, it took 2 days and had to talk to like 6-7 reps to get this done.

I called in for the first time today as my contract expires in September and I was offered the exact same plan as that but for $59 + tax, but he was also going to throw in a $50 discount on the phone.

I am going to go through with it as i am paying only a few dollars less at the moment and i am not getting nearly as much.

My brother and his wife are almost 1 year into their 3 year term with Bell with a voice only plan that they share and it's not even great. it's about 200 minutes each and some more minutes shared among the two of them.

My brother's phone sucks so bad it's an HTC desire and has had so many issues. What's the best escape route. Should we abandon Bell altogether? seems like they don't really have a retention dept like Fido (I'm with Fido) .

He wants a really good smart phone this time with as little data as possible and something he can get for him and his wife. Any ideas what to do with Bell now? A long time is still left so waiting 2 years is a long time. any negotiation strategies? should we call to cancel in hopes of getting the retention department? do i call and say i want to talk to retention dept? seems like cancellation fee is really high. how to renogotiate a better deal?

The focus is to get a lot of voice minutes with as little data as possible. seems like most people here get very little voice 200 mins or so and more data. Any advice is appreciated.

They gave me this for 60 plus tax:
    200 day
    6pm evenings
    Fab10
    Unlimited incoming
Unlimited text including video and voice messaging
    Cw,cd,vm, conference
    6gb tetherable
    50 discount for phone

Very much the going plan as others with tweaks. Got it on first call (thanks for help )have 7 months left on my contract. This seems like a decent deal...I have him calling me back on Friday. Everything in it just seems steep. No? Currently I pay 50, but many options are gone as soon as my plan is up and 15 more bucks a month makes me think I'm taking a huge hit. Any feedback would be appreciated.
