I am able to access my account via UAM above but unable to add my working gtalk account. I made sure to log out via my phone and even my gtalk client via both gmail and the client.
I recieve the following errors:
There was an error registering with the External IM Service. 3
There was an error registering you with the XMPP Gateway. Please try again later.
when you first logged in you would have got some kind of message to add the the contacts/buddies. If you add them that authorises their presence. The presence is not on the handset per se.
I didn't get any kind of presence authorisation request before the S60 client received the contact list (for the first time or since).

I had the same problem trying to register my gtalk identity.

Hi
you saw your contacts online also isnt? Then just do the following thing
You would require to change/update your presence to "Available/Online" and then your contacts/buddies will be displayed. For SonyEricsson handsets you need to select "Watching Users" to see your contacts and then add them from there.

My presence is set to Available but none of my contacts are shown as online -- and I'm not seen online in any other client.
I've emailed my username and a description of my problem to info @ mobjab.com.
try set up an msn account to see if that works?
i think the e65 shares the same imps client as the n95 and the n95 has a bug preventing messages arriving from yahoo contacts, i also believe it has the same bug with google talk. the only IM i can get working at the moment is msn.
