contract plan pricing (your monthly access fees) vs. going with a prepay plan that aside for the 10-20 minute a month crowd is not financially wise.Originally Posted by ushneb
you get no spiff on the phone whatsoever, just full retail, but you can have the same monthly access fees as the other 70 million people on the network with no contract obligation, this also allows for an initial upgrade anytime you want by....wait for it.... signing a contract.

Who said anything about getting the phone at contract price?Originally Posted by ushneb
Personally I think this is a good idea. About 2 years ago, my Mom was in a severe car accident and she was in a nursing home for a few months to rehabilitate. We wanted to get her a cell phone so she would have something to do and a way to communicate. I called verizon and asked if I could temporarily add a line for her using a phone I already had. They said I could but there would be a 1 year contract, even though I was providing the phone. She ended up just getting her own contract since her phone was destroyed in the accident and she was out of contract anyhow.

just got off the phone with my regional blackberry rep... this person is either very very very stupid or playing a good bluff. This person claimed they knew nothing of any touchscreen blackberry in the pipeline, and stuck to the story even after mentioning the videos and spy shots online on multiple websites. They said that Verizon had no new BB's in the pipline until 2009 and it was going to be the equivelent of a bold.
I call bluff, there is no way you can be working for RIM and NOT know about the storm this far into the game.
I'm sorry, I guess I'm still a little confused. You're talking about month-to-month without a contract right? But how can you get a phone at contract price without the 1 or 2 year contract? I've never looked into the month-to-month plan so that's why I'm confused about what you said a few posts back.Originally Posted by ehattey
This sucks, I doubt we hear anything today. I'm really getting tired of the Voyager but there's nothing in VZW's line-up that's even worth upgrading to. I left sprint last December and now look what they are getting! VZW's network is the best by far but I'm hoping I made the right decision. Come on Verizon.

before if you wanted a phone without a contract your option was inpulse which can be more expensive than a contract for every day use.
with the new month to month plan you have to either bring your own phone, or purchase one at full retail....(i.e. BB8330 for 479.99)
You don't get the phone at a contract price. You either bring your own equipment, or buy a phone from them at full retail price.Originally Posted by ushneb

The RIM stock is surging as we speak. Maybe that is ahead of the Storm Announcement.
perhaps its already been said, but I dont want to thumb through 2000 posts.....
is there a spec on the size of the battery yet? With a screen this large, 8 gigs in the slot, and so much processing power, this thing better have 1500+mAh worth of battery under the hood. otherwise it will be an 8 hour wonder.
i would like to see them cram 2000mAh into it. this would ensure a full day of heavy use
Just to let you guys know, crackberry.com has a live feed from CITA, that should be reporting Jim Balsillie's speech in real time, its on their homepage.
