This is the X-SIM I was talking about a few pages back. It could be just me but so far it doesn't work with anything!

Tested the Next SIM V7 today...and I'm rather disappointed as I lose signal whenever I'm going over 60 km/h. Doesn't matter if I'm on the ground in a bus or car or a bit higher up on light rail (SkyTrain). It recovers somewhat quickly, but it's not very stable. Somewhat erratic.
I didn't notice that with the i-smartphone 2008 one, but I'll look for the same issue tomorrow or Friday. Too late to switch SIM hacks now lol...zzzzzzz X.X

Really? I didn't notice a drop when I was driving on the highway, although I did lose my signal when I went under a bridge >_>;;
Also lost my signal the moment I enter campus which I find strange.......but immediately after I leave it regains signal in under a minute.
V7 I mean.
PS. just to make this point clear.
NO I wasn't doing some reckless driving where I'm on the cell phone and staring at it while driving xP I was using my bluetooth headset and talking to someone.......if the signal had dropped to an out I would've noticed >_>;;
Contrary to popular belief I'm not really obsessed or in love with tofu as a food, sure its good and all but I'm not in love with it. Someone else typed this name for me when I was registering >_>
ps. For future reference just qoute me as Tofu instead of the whole name....sounds too cheesy LOL
well.. what's your input on this guys? would you rekon someone buy the i-smartone 2008 or nextsim v7?? They both have their advantage/disadvantages![]()
Honestly, I would say buy the cheaper one. Which ever one that is available cheaper you should go get that one because the two of them are almost identical, I mean even if they both have their advantages and disadvantages they both work fine and it doesn't matter really.
I kind of lost what I was trying to say half way.....this is what happens when I don't get enough sleep and wake up early in the morning....I can't think straight lol
lol i got my first out ever.. in the past 3 weeks.
and when it put it into my other phone.. it changed my GPS setting to GPRS. =p
Huh, so I went back to the i-smartphone 2008 today and it also has that signal-dropping problem at high speeds, but the threshold is higher. I.e., it drops closer to 80 km/h when on the SkyTrain. Haven't tested it while driving quick on the ground, but will soon enough. I'm thinking this one is put together better, or has better programming than the Next SIM V7 as of right now.Originally Posted by murdoc2k

PS: I'll update what you've written just now along with MyLoveForTofu's update
PPS: I'm quite satisfied with recent results of the afforable sim tests. There hasn't been a case where CPR is necessary. At least we don't need to carry 2 phones around![]()
Hahaha yea its great that we don't have to do CPR
but being paranoid I bring along my N6300 just incase >_>
also for when my battery dies.......lol sometimes I forget to charge my phone when I'm in a hurry.
okay guys so i had to CPR my nextsim v7 for the first time. i dont know how to explain this but my college is built between the base and peak of a hill (you can see the skyline of the city from ground level) so reception gets lost easily. the first 4 days i brought the SH905i up there it would lose it and regain when i left campus or went to the balcony of my library (basically standing on the ROOF of a 5- story building). but it wasnt regaining signal when i left campus so i had to put it in the 904sh when i got back home to get my signal back. weird. good thing i always carry the pearl.
lol I guess I wasn't being paranoid......carrying my N6300 around was a good idea o.o
very much so.![]()
well for me, I'm usually in city limits and I seldom travel to another city so the chance of requiring CPR due to highly elevated areas with low reception is rare. Since rogers has a good 1900 Network established in urban areas, I think the p905i should handle it fairly well with only periodic loss of connection.
im using sm32
i hope it works
