Utter stupidity. I am surprised there is no regulation on this... YOu can get a cell phone that can credit 22K but you cannot pass a credit check for a measily $1,000 credit card?
even more stupid is the rates... it is like charging $1,000 for a bottle of 99 cents water just because you are at a diner and forgot your club discount card...
fido should have definitely called the person well before the bill got that high.
there are a ton of ppl that do not come to hofo for added info, and even tho the 'fine print' says so, there were a ton of CSRs that sold the unlimited data for use on all phones. People wont go thru all agreements and fine prints just to be sure the CSR is correct, every single time, just in case.
Fido needs to adjust the bill... but make it clear that the charges will be there again if they do not adhere to the policy.
Im sure they leave the bill like that to make a point, but quickly adjust it accordingly. And if thats the case, its fine. If they stick the bill to they guy, then fido are real *** holes and need the govt to step in to regulate this gouging.

Glad l snapped up the Unlimited Data plans on Fido & Telus while they existed!
Perhaps you GSM lovers better swallow your pride & go with Telus (gsm soon) for unlimited on Device Data or shut up & start Robbing Rogers Video Stores to pay your Data Habit!!

he/she should have seen this coming though. eventually it was going to happen since its already in print that the unlimited internet is fido approved phones only.

Why didn't the account shut down when the OP reached a limit?
l did a TOR of a GPUNL few years ago, the CSR didn't provision it appropriately & a few days later all my numbers/services were frozen after data usage.
Fido previously had no credit limit, then when Rogers took over credit limits were applied & apparently now Credit is Limitless when it comes to overpriced data on Rogers & Fido!
