My internet is down but I wanna update. I can't do that using the N95 I wanna update as my modem, right?
It would require some superhuman abilities to keep internet traffic going the phone while you're in the process of reinstalling every single application on it. If you have two phones though, you can tether with one and update the other.
wow now that's a bummer ...i can't install nsu on my cpu...im using windows vista i just went on nokia's site and it's only compatible with xp no upgrade for me
I was able to install it in Vista, and it'll run if you select the "Windows XP compatibility mode" for the .exe in windows explorer. Of course, it could do bad things, so use at your own risk...

"The update brings the US version of the N95 up to speed with its world siblings. It adds demand paging, Flash Lite 3, Web Run Time, Idle Screen Nokia Search and significant performance improvements"

Ran it on Vista while I was still running that "operating system." Don't remember seeing any problems with the update process when that little bug fix came out over the winter.
If it said anything about the Nokia software not being made for Vista, I must have just ignored it. I was running vista home premium, so maybe the 64 bit version behaved differently.
Either way, I'm not using it anymore. Kept an XP drive handy for my desktop just for updates on the phone. Everything else is Linux (hint to Nokia...)
