Nokia 5310 on T-Mobile unbranding

I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

I have the 5.99 t-zones plan. The phone is unbranded, I backed-up and then restored the settings after the unbranding, and have used the T-Mobile config site.

But I still can not get online with opera mini or google maps.

help please

I skimmed through this but there doesn't seem to be a way to do this for the 5610 yet correct? Also, how are the mms pictures after you are unbranded? Are they normal size or are they shrunk down.

I just have one quick question to ask before I debrand my phone (and cant go back). Does the official, vanilla Nokia firmware have a chat application that supports AIM? I do not have any form of internet plan, but currently the t-mo app charges me through text messages (but uses wap to connect and download the buddy list). I have prepaid, but don't want to lose mobile aim. IF the Nokia firmware has it, does it charge through text messages or use wap? And if not, can I take the tmobile app off my phone and transfer it?

And just to point out, the built in tzones app (mapped to right soft key) should be able to be accessed using the nokia firmware, because its just a jar file in the collection folder. its copy protected, but any program on the lines of mobi mb can take it off for you. not sure why anyone would want to use it though (:

Nokia firmware doesn't have an IM app. Any Nokia phone that has an IM app is 3rd party software that Nokia does not support. I had trouble with the IM app T-Mobile uses by OZ Communications, and Nokia support told me it was up to T-Mobile to support the issue. I ended up getting a new phone from T-Mobile through warranty replacement just because of the software issue.

Ok so I have been messing around all night reading through forums and googling info on how to update to 7.01 first off phone specs (stock)

HW Version: 6502

Product Serial Number: OF1209039

RM-304

I used NSS to update my product code trying the red one mentioned on the forum.
I then went and opened Nokia Updater and it did find 7.01 and began to update but during the update process the program would say please restart your phone by emptying the battery unplugging usb cables and turn it back on and try again. So my question is, does the product code have to be model specific? If so is there anyone that can provide me with a orange product code? Thanks!

To all of you who know what the hell you're doing, please bear with me, this my first trip into the mobile internet world.

I've tried every setting, I downloaded the settings that were posted early on and they didn't work, either. Now I'm wondering if my data plan (5.99 plan) isn't working. I signed up for it about a week ago specifically for the unbranding.

I've reverted my web connection settings back to factory and I'm starting from scratch with T-zones.

1. I can get onto the t-zones landing page What I see on T-zones

2. I can see my acct info, but nothing else. Now I click on News & Weather After clicking on News & Weather

3. I get this error message with anything outside the t-zones menu Error after clicking ABC News


I think my data plan isn't working, but I'm looking for some confirmation from people much smarter than I on these matters.

I get the same error... I personally think the 5.99 t-zones plan has been 'locked' so as to make people pay for the full data plan ($20 - that's almost like paying for a real ISP, which at T-mobile speeds seems like a ripoff to me)

Perhaps the fellow who states he can access real web through the tzones plan is mistaken and he's actually on the full internet plan, or he's an older subscriber with 'grandfathered' access, if that makes sense.

I hope I'm wrong.. I'll be watching this thread to see if any solutions are posted. In the meantime, I'll just be satisfied with my programmable right soft key.

Since i using opera mini i couldn't see you error picture, i don't think t zones is locked, im still only paying 5.99 and i get full internet with opera mini still, try getting the settings from the nokia configurator if t mobiles isn't working. I think some phones are having issues, since my dad has a new samsung but he gets an error when he goes to like mobile myspace but if i put my sim in it it works so i guess some accounts are just having problems.

Like I said before, maybe you have 'grandfathered' access. Both myself and the other poster just recently signed up for the 5.99 plan.

I've seen other companies do things of this nature, for instance my friend has an emusic account that costs the same as mine but he gets twice as many downloads per month, because he had it before they adjusted their plan structure.

Just a guess, but this may be the case here.

I just signed up for $5.99 t-zones (2 months ago) and I can access everything but streameing media just fine. Check your settings.

Just like above, just unlocked my 5310 and signed up for t-zones for $5.99. Have full access w/ my opera mini browser, google maps etc...

hey anyone tries on the SILVER 5310 Xpressmusic yet??, after a few times attempting to scan the product code, i got it and i changed it to the product code for RED 5310 (0551710) :|:|:|, i guess it s still fine though, i m updating the new firmware 7.01 now, let's wait
does anyone know the product code for SILVER one ? please let me know .thank you

I have silver phone and flashed with the blue code, I wanted the red but from what i've read it's the euro version and codes the phone numbers in a different format... are you in europe or USA, and how does it code the phone numbers? Like USA (XXX) XXX-XXXX?

hi turdburglar, i m i USA, and wow , i didnt recognize the way my phone forms phone numbers after i ve done the flashing, i ve just tested it and whatever number i dialed, it still appeared to be xxxxxxxxxx (no space between numbers) in stead of (xxx)xxx xxxx.., which means no particular format is applied, how about your phone?, if you used the BLUE code then i guess the main theme may be in blue and white? mine is red and black
does your unbranded phone have US phone number format?
i like the red and black theme so i wont try other product codes on my phone but could you give me the product code for blue 5310 XM, thanks.

also do you know any other major difference between an original Silver XM and an unbranded Silver one with red code?
