Dudeman ... if all you did was change the Product Code then all that changed was your FW version ... like what is all packed in with the FirmWare ... nothing about your settings will change.Originally Posted by dudemaaan

Ive started to read through this thread, but i figured it may be easier just to ask than scan all 20 odd pages
Ive just got a 5310 on UK Orange network and want to debrand it. Can anyone advise what the correct Euro1 code would be to make the phone a stock Nokia phone not an Orange phone![]()
Jeff35, Thank You VERY Much, now i can change the product code and update my software to its proper color and country settings.
now all i have to do is prepair myself for the tedious task of setting up all my apps againgrr.
But much appreciated for the US product code.
Wait, one next thing ... although iv unlocked my phones software ... like, the restriction to setting Mp3's as ringtones and what not ... how would i make my phone be able to use other sim cards ?
is it is Sim lock ? lol... sorry for my lack of knowledge, GSM's isnt my thing, i just got into this so i can have full use of this phone i payed so much for.

I had a T-Mobile rep on the phone tell me he would put on the computer notes for me saying the customer is going to unbrand his phone to use 3rd party applications and his warranty would not be void!Originally Posted by Moe3754

Hi guys... I finally finally got my t-mo 5310 unlocked (had to send it back to the US and back again) and now I'm having trouble with the signal strength. I know that this is a bit off topic but I just wanted to ask if anyone here has had this problem.
The phone works fine with my SIM card but when I go indoors, or somewhere with a roof, there isn't any network coverage. There are 3 networks in our country and it is not picking up anything. I wanted to ask if unbranding the phone would make the signal strength go up somewhat. Or are there any workarounds for this?
I've been trying to get NSS to work but every time I try to scan it replies with 'error'. Maybe I'm missing something? I will try again tomorrow and hope it recognizes the phone by then. It's kind of sad and frustrating that I've had the phone since September and never really used it at all.
Hope you guys can help me. Thanks so much. ^__^
I think the T-Mobile version of this phone is tri-band (850/1800/1900), so it possibly is connecting on your network on the 1800 Mhz band which doesn't get as good building penetration as your 900 Mhz. It may not have anything to do with the software or being unlocked unless you had previously used it on your network and gotten better signal strength indoors.Originally Posted by yuki-arashi
Thanks for the quick reply GSM1. I checked and found out our networks do use the 900/1800 mhz band. So I guess it's up to me to find a spot in our house to put the phone on so it doesn't miss any messages then. ^__^
But I will still try unbranding it so I can use my right key and get rid of all the t-mo apps which won't have any use here. Thanks again. ^__^
is there a way to go back to the original tmobile firmware u.s.a
See post #349 this thread. If you have a firmware lower than 8.22, it should be possible to go back. The current tmobile firmware is 8.22. If you have 8.32, then it may very well be a long wait.Originally Posted by webbc06

Okay so I did it now I have version 9.42 but when I go to access the Personal Config settings the phone reboots everytime.
