    Samsung Saga fonts

I just got a Saga and started installing some of my third party apps on it. I started out by master resetting the device to make sure it was clean (got it used). I started to notice that every single 3rd party program looked awful - the fonts are all jagged, text is hard to read. Even the icons in the Programs list look terrible. True type fonts are on, and all settings are obviously the default. Stock apps look great. Has anyone else seen this?

Will Pandora run on this phone? Any other choices for streaming music?

My Samsung Saga bricked and I'm trying to figure out how or if I even can reinstall the software on the phone. It can turn on but it won't go past the "Samsung" screen. Any help would be appreciated.

    HARD RESET

Hold the touch pad down while inserting the stylus into the reset button. Press the send key when it says "would you like to format". All your data will be gone.

Was just sent a post, from my boss, about the long awaited GPS software update...I am trying it now. Here is a URL to the update:

I wonder if Saga can be charged via USB? Shold there be a special cable or regular data sync cable will do the job?

    Thanks.

Yes it definitely can. Though I've started having problems with my Saga battery -- it doesn't like to charge to full capacity anymore even if I charge with the regular wall charger. It charges for a while (the light is red) and then it stops charging (the light goes green) long before it reaches 100%. Not sure if the meter is just mis-calibrated or if it really isn't charging.

    Saga GPS with Bing

I have been able to get Google Maps to function with GPS properly but have not been able to get Bing to function with GPS. The Bing screen gets stuck indicating "waiting for gps" Has anybody gotten the Saga GPS to work with Bing?

Anyone know how to toggle DDTM on the Saga? I can't find the reg entry... How about the EVDO-only mode?

I've had that problem as well. It seems like Google Maps is a little better than finding a signal. I've found that if I start up GM, and let it get a lock on the GPS, then quit GM, and start up Bing, it will be able to find the signal. I'm not sure if there is some data that's getting cached by GM and then Bing can access it, but it does do the trick.

As an aside, I used an Ozone (which has Quick GPS as part of the stock ROM)for a week or so, and none of this was an issue. Both programs were able to get accurate, reliable fixes in a matter of seconds. I'm actually pretty satisfied with the GPS in the Saga, especially since it didn't have any when I bought it, but from what I've seen in other phones, there is much room for improvement.
Sliding a phone open is such a hassle...
