This is going to be a tricky situation because the iphone requires a term contract in order to activate and to take advantage of, hopefully, the unlimited data plan. I think fido will force ambassador's to switch over to a regular plan in order to get the iphone.

On a side note, I have the $16 comm pack and i think i used mms once or twice in the past 5 months. In the situations where I used mms I believe emailing would have been more beneficial.

What are the chances of Fido not allowing the following people to not get an iPhone

Grandfathered Plans
- CountryFido (me)
- CityFido (my sister)
- $45+ (my mom)
People who are currently on contract either just having signed (like me April 25)
People who have included S.A.F.
People wanting to use Fido$

Mac Write, I'm in the same boat as you. I have the Old $40 CF plan, included SAF, about 100 Fido $'s, and my contract is coming up at the end of the year. I'm hoping that as long as the data plans are reasonable that they will let me get the iphone.

I wonder if those of us with 1st-gen iPhones can jump on these iPhone plans without penalty... I would like to give my 1st-gen iPhone to a family member and pick up a 2nd gen iphone!

I can't see them restricting us day 1 CF'ers. There is too much money to be made from the extra data fee, no matter how much it is.

Did I mention I am pretty sure I'm getting the new Iphone? Be my first apple since the ][+

It wouldn't make sense if they don't allow people joining with their 1st gen iPhones. IMO, the nice shiny iPhone is the bait, and the pricey data plan is the hook that's going to hurt you. If people are will to bite the hook without the bait, I don't see why Fido will turn them away.

Just stop it. You people are amazing lol. Fido marketing is, and always has been, completely separate. You know why Fido isn't mentioned in the Rogers press release? Cuz it's a ROGERS PRESS RELEASE. It's an advertisement for Rogers Wireless.

THERE IS NO DELAY. IT IS JULY 11TH FOR ALL THE MAJOR COUNTRIES. If anything, Rogers may do all the marketing for it and it'll simply be available on Fido to avoid the hassles of people switching between brands. Whether Fido is going to advertise the iPhone at all now or later has NOTHING to do with it! lololol

I doubt you'll see anything from Fido until it shows up on the product page July 11th. Cheers. And please, don't even START the fear mongering. It IS coming to Fido. Period. Thank you.
