I’ve been wanting the c702 since it was announced, but after the new iphone was announced I was astounded by the cheap price of it. Tomtom has already said they have a working version of their GPS for the new iphone, I was wondering if the tomtom GPS will work with a c702? Also, I don’t have a data plan, will I still be able to use GPS? I always get confused as standalone tomtom/garmin GPS don’t use wifi but the ones on phones do…? Let me know!
I have tomtom on my M600 and works great. And because it is tomtom, the maps are on your phone (if you have the space) or your memory card. The only thing it should 'connect' to is the bluetooth gps receiver. So no data plan is needed.
Now will it work? I am not familiar with the c702, but I do not think so. I think your best bet would be amazegps.com but that uses data. Sorry!
Please remember that the M600 is a UIQ "Smartphone", There are currently no GPS Apps that support SE phone w/o the use of Data, Garmin, TomTom doesn't support the Built-In GPS....
This is Why I'm still on my N95-3, I needed a GPS App that doesn't use Data....
I'm sure this would change someday...
