The most recent problem with my daughter's Pantech Duo: The slider to open the standard keypad doesn't shut all the way on its own any more. It sits about 1/8" open and feels like some sort of spring is holding it there. We can push it all the way closed and still be able to open the QWERTY keyboard, and at that point the standard keypad stays closed. But, close the QWERTY slider, and it pops the standard slider open to 1/8" again.
I can't figure out how this thing comes apart and I'm afraid I'll break it.
Problem is, this is already a re-furbished replacement unit. She got the phone for Christmas so she's only had it for 6 months. The first one just randomly died and AT&T replaced it. Of course, the replacement has no warranty so now we're SOL.
This is the coolest phone and the worst phone I've ever seen. The features, size, and design intentions make it cool. The actual function, and apparently the durability, make it terrible.
Any ideas of how to either repair it or get AT&T / Pantech to do something about it?

If you're not modding it, then what are you doing?
If there is a better way to do it, I'll find it.....
good info. Thanks.
no problem
Let us know what happens. I recently just got a refurbished Duo (with online checkout codes, it wound up only costing $25). It arrived in pristine condition. But I'm worried that it's gonna fall apart over night.
"Put more than two of us in a room, we pick sides and start dreaming up ways to kill one another.
Why do you think we invented politics and religion?"
If it came from RMS don't worry about it. I've had mine back from them for over a month and no issues other than setting it up for Tmo.
Yep, that's where it came from. I wanted a smartphone and I liked the idea of the 2 keyboards. Once I found the checkout codes, and applied them, I figured, what the hell? $25 for this phone can't be that bad.
My concern is that this thing is gonna break AGAIN! My daughter now wants a different phone for the same reason. Pretty annoying after 6 months. :-(
I'll try RMS. Thanks for the info.

yea depending on how much it is to fix, I would just stay with that phone. My friend has this phone and has had no problems with it and loves it. But I mean I guess phones just all come down to personal preference.
