Where's the dialtone?
I posted this in the main Moto Forum but thought it would make more sense here. Does anyone know how to enable DUN on the W755. All I want to do is to dial my ISP while using the W755 as a phone/modem. Figured out how to do this on my K1M and E815 with the forum's help but can't see how to do it on the W755. Thanks for any advise. My laptop (Win XP) recognizes the phone, so I assume I have drivers installed correctly. When i try to dial any number using my dialer on the laptop i get a message that my modem is out of order.

The only thing (so far) I want to edit on mine is the EMI banner; The custom banner is too low and gets in the way of some of the artwork I put on my background. I liked changing "Verizon Wireless" to my name on my old V3m. (296a 5)
The RAZR has gone under the knife! I grew up and got a W755.

You can turn the EMI banner off completely in the standard menus that come with the phone:
-- Settings and Tools
-- Display Settings
-- Banner
-- ERI Banner (or choose "Personal Banner" if you want to add your own)
Where's the power button?
I use p2k to edit my phone. The latest version has explanations next to the check mark area, explaining what each edit will do. Unfortunately, these remarks are apparently for the Razr and not the W755. I have tried turning on the Continental ringer, as well as a few others to no avail.
Anyone find where the goodies are hidden yet?
And does anyone know what folder the songs are stored in? I can transfer pics and ringtones through MSU and P2K Commander but cannot locate the songs folder.
I am still using the internal memory so maybe when my sd card gets here it will make life easier.......

am trying to use my ring tones but there is no way to do so since MPT blocks the mutimedia part of the program i had it with my razr v3m but this one is being a pain
can't understand why i pay 299.00 for a phone and can't use all the features it is suppose to have unless i keep paying out the wazoo for it

Are you simply trying to put custom ringtones on the phone, or something else? If it is just the ringtones, there are plenty of tutorials in here and even a very easy to follow youtube video. Assuming you already have the data cable, you will also need Motorola Software Update and P2K Commander, should be links for those in these forums as well.
Besides custom ringtones, I've already changed the flip open verizon graphic, and put on a custom start-up pic and sound. There is quite a bit you can do to this phone. Although, I would like to figure out how to remove or modify the verizon graphic that comes up BEFORE the start-up animation.

I used P2K Commander and I can put sounds and/or ringtones on there. I just wish the firmware allowed them to be used together. Perhaps if the path were changed in the BREW you might be able to load the ringtones from the Sounds directory. But I'm not about to brick my phone doing so. BTW I wouldn't suggest trying ANY RAZR seem edits on this thing. You're likely to brick it, since the two phones are a generation apart. The DNA is only as similar as humans and dogs.

Follow the directions on this web site and all works. Make sure you delete the Ringtonedb.db file after transferring to the appropriate folders. Make sure you put your rt in the right brew folder! You can create your rt with MPT or similar and transfer with p2k commander!

Where's the power button?
i have a moto w755 w/ a 4g sd card. i can't get my phone to recognize the music on the card. music is all mp3. can someone please help? i'm ready to stomp the crap out of this thing. tried cust svc 3 times to no avail. thank you!!

How are you putting the mp3 onto your card?
there are 2 ways you can do it..
1. hook phone to usb cable, and use verizon's vcast and sync the music
2. put 4gig sd card into a card reader and copy all your music to the card then put the card back into the phone.
I have done it both ways and have not had a problem.
when you do option 2 make sure the mp3 go into my_music **DO NOT use sub dirs in the my_music just copy all the mp3 into the one dir. sub dirs will not show up nor will the mp3
