Official LG Versa VX9600 Pre-Release Thread

There was a rumor, started in the comments on Engadget, that the Versa would begin a trend of forcing people into a data plan on dumbphones. It was discussed earlier in this thread. No conclusion was reached.

i missed it, didn't see that rumor,

Not sure if this has been covered yet but there seems to be some confusion on if this phone will have Rev. A and the answer is yes. Also it will have visual voicemail just in case anyone was wondering.

Can we please not start this rumor crap agian. AS OF RIGHT NOW THE PHONE DOES NOT REQUIRE A DATA PLAN AND THERES A 2% CHANCE IT WILL, until it is officially stated its just causing panic and i will bet it was some from idiot who left verzion because of the smartphone dataplan requirement and made a dumb remark like next dumbphones will require it to. For 95% of the smartphone users to not have the data plan would be a very big mistake so its a money maker on verzions part and logical for almost any smartphone user.

You show me the core data functions that would force me to get a data plan...i for sure as hell will not be using the internet on this phone and it doesnt save my emails on it....soooooo it seems pretty pointless and useless to force someone to take a dataplan, untill its stated by verzion can it just be a dead subject?
