Return A530 and get VX6000 next month?

So I upgraded the A530 from the A310. I love the phone...BUT...I really would like a camera phone.

The VX6000 "supposedly" comes out June 16th, and I Can still return this A530 in little over a week.

Has anyone actually seen a VX6000? How do you feel about LG support of phones?

The camera might be a bit "gimicky" but I see real use in carrying it to be honest.

To be honest, there's still a lot of unanswered questions about this whole camera thing!

Quality of pics, how much Verizon will charge to send them, or will it even be possible to send the images?

Knowing the whole saga with the A530, you should know better, June 16 is more like September 16 with VZ.

BTW- I'm still waiting for version 08 LG!

ya the picture quality isnt that great on phones as oppose to regular digital cameras. Also you gotta look at the whole memory issue with the phone too...how mayn pictures can you actually store on the phone? Also does it eat up memory for other stuff like tones, wallpapers, etc etc I'll be honest if I were to get a camera phone my first choice would not be LG it would be Sanyo...that 8100 is a superb phone although it doesnt have a flash or zoom function its still the best...if you're not having problems with your a530 i'd hang on to it...I have it too and I love it no problems at all...I think half these people on here just got a bad batch...like they saying goes "**** happens"

The Sanyo 8100 is a supurb phone indeed but everyone in the Sprint forum is saying that the camera/photo quality kinda sucks -- fairly low resolution but serves it's purposes for some people. The Sanyo 5300 definitely has better resolution over the 8100 as tested side by side pics by some people.

Interestingly, I believe that the LG vx6000's photo quality (330k pixel rez) will be better than the Sanyo 8100 because the resolution will probably rival that of the 5300 and it offers zoom capabilities.

Yeah it's not going to blow away the Sanyo phones but should be competititive based on the specs.

I have a Lg VX10 and i love it! I really like Lg phones, this is what i hear but plz somone tell me if i am wrong. I hear Lg phones tend to have a better voice quality then most other phones. I know mine is amazing! Its like you are on a house phone! Then i hear that Lg has the second best reception MOST times but not all. I hear that Motorola has the best reception but the voice quality is fuzzy. So maybye third best Voice quality. Then i hear Sansung has the third best reception Usally and the second best voice quality. As far as Camera phones now one really knows a lot about them yet. I will wait until i hear about if they are good or not. But i will never get one if Verzion charges for the Photo service. Good Luck!

Yeah I'm hoping that LG will continue the trend to put in solid quality into the vx6000. The vx4400 has been excellent for the most part and for the general population, but of course some people have had some issues with specific software versions.

I'm not gonna be a heavy camera user but it will come handy sometimes -- if I get into a fender bender I can take a quick pic for evidence. Or for work purposes -- there are times when I walk into a server room and next thing you know it I'm on the phone with my manager about the *****ty and horrendous cabling job was done on the multitude of server cabinets. A quick pic from my camera phone and email will provide the evidence of a thousand words. This is just a couple of 1001 different possibilities of how I will use my camera phone. It won't be used for vacations or holiday/family pics.

Again, at 330K resolution it'll be much better than the Sanyo 8100 and rival the Sanyo 5300 -- which has pretty good quality.

Hopefully Verizon will offer an attractive pic/email package...gotta provide incentives to bring up the revenues.

Kenster is correct. The LG-VX6000 will be above the competition in terms of quality of pictures with the camera. You really can't compare the lot of camera phones to this one, which is why Verizon chose it.

It also has a higher probability of actually coming out on time, as I've said before, because Sprint will be introducing some new phones that Verizon will want to compete with.

I myself don't know if I'd buy this phone as I wouldn't make heavy use of the camera (my little digital camera is almost always with me) but if someone like Jef wants a camera phone on Verizon, the VX-6000 is definitely the one for him.. or her.

Though many people on all forums bash LG, I think it's a great company and improving daily whereas other cellular manufacturers seem to be on a downfall (as in, not improving with every new phone they create). They make good phones that will last you many years, and I'm sure the VX-6000 will do just the same to any owner that treats it right.
